Dunham's Sports — Local services in Springfield

I took my new ar on in looking for a certain sling part. They didn't have what I was looking for and nothing remotely close to it. This was a while ago, (3 or so months). I went to the back counter to find they don't have a legalized gun expert!?! The "expert" they provided me didn't even OWN a gun let alone know ANYTHING about them. I have more credentials than him by many years and he acted VERY unprofessional. He even took me to an employee only area and I made the mistake of letting him Carry my rifle. There were some other employees back there he pointed my gun at and pretended to shoot! I wanted nothing to do with this person. He then proceeded to try to sell me what I know I didn't need and didn't want. Too much pressure and could have gotten him in huge legal trouble had I not chosen to leave and never visit this store again. If you are looking for firearm advice or guidance please do not go here! Unless they have hired a certified person in the last few months! I would give 0 stars...

I worked in retail for over 30 years and have never felt as uncomfortable in a store as I did my last two visits. The visit before last I was followed around by a officer from the local township. And my latest visit the manager (I presume) looked at and walked by me with a look of discontent. Didn't speak or acknowledge my presence. My wife was at the counter making a purchase. I have always liked this sporting goods store and they have just about anything you can think of for the whole array of things that sporting goods entails and from kayaks to ping pong and hunting and fishing is done pretty well and wanted to buy another rod but I ended up with another fishing reel and a short and I will tell anyone who is around a Dunhams to stop by and see what you think about one of the best sporting goods stores around.
