I have worked in retail my whole life so I HATE having to say anything bad about an employee but I went there yesterday and I can promise I'll never go back. I really don't care to be greeted but when you're the only one in the store and the dude is purposely ignoring you it makes it awkward to be there. So I started off by asking if the store had any Mario or final fantasy stuff...he then was short and rude and said "ugh..like what?" And when I say he tried coming off as rude I mean he was a total D bag to me. Looked on his computer named 3 things for final fantasy and stared at me in silence. So I said...ok how about the tifa figure. Walked me over to it handed it and walked off. Didn't ask about Mario, wasn't nice, or even normal at all with me, didn't greet me, ignored me, acted unprofessional and when I didn't care for his unhelpful rude behavior anymore I left and he ignored me and didn't even say bye or have a good one or anything. Just kept ignoring me. I get people have bad days but I saw this guy be cool with someone who just finished paying and left as I walked in. He clearly decided he didn't like me...idk and I don't reall y care either. I don't think I'll ever go back and what's sad is I have friends and family who all said they like the place. Sadly I can't say the same. Will not refer friends either. I know it sounds extreme but I would honestly rather drive to saint Louis to get my nerd gear if it means having to see this guy again. Idk if the owner reads these but it was a larger man with facial hair and I went in the morning/afternoon of 10/7. Hope you talk to this dude on being cool with people because he isn't the type you want running your business while you're not there from...
Read moreOn 5/26/24, I asked (the right thing to do) if it was ok to go through the free comic book day books that were left over and the guy (with buzzed blonde hair) said (very rudely) they are not for sell. I said they are the free comic book day books (which are never for sale). The dude jogged to get to the table to make sure there weren't any on the table. When he got to the table he saw 2 of them on the table and quickly picked them up and grabbed the box and walked fast to the counter. I told my wife "f that guy and Killen's, I will never set foot in there ever again" I hope the store folds and closes and that specific guy looses everything! I see pics on their book of faces page that free comic book day books are free! FREE! And to do what he did and in the manner that he did it in! F that whole deal! RE: To your rebuttal. Just to clarify bud, I didn't open anything. And did not go through the box. I asked if it was ok to go through it. So don't f'n assume I opened the box! The box was already opened. I asked, you did what you did..........I...
Read moreAlways a great adventure to go to Killen's. They have a huge selection of current and old toys, collector's items, an awesome comic book collection, games, old gaming systems and cartridges, signs, DVDs, and other assorted items. My family and I love it. They even repair some old gaming systems, which saved our son some heartbreak. We have enjoyed going there since we first discovered it years ago. We have found some really unique and hard to find items there and have been thrilled with it all. The newer location in the mall allows for them to have a lot more of their stock out on display but, they are always willing to try to track something down for you if they can. I can't say enough about how much we...
