Love On Paper Photography — Local services in Springfield

I have gotten professional photos done before and I am leaving a very honest detailed review. I loved the photos on the site I read other good reviews & personal recommendations, before choosing this place. I wanted to go with someone from Springfield and support the business. I emailed her to see what kind of set up we could do for newborn photos & what we could incorporate, didn’t respond to that part of the email. I got there and it was all over the place, didn’t know where things were. My son was told to stop smiling like that and look at the lens over and over. He is 3, doesn’t know what a lens is. Not friendly. I was told sneak peak would be 72 hours, one week later I had to email her myself and there was no apology or explanation just a single photo response. I was told final edits would be 3 weeks, once again several days later I had to email her. Received the final edits a week after that email again no reason or communication. Then the 2 photos that included my kids weren’t the best so I asked if there were other options. That was on 12/5, she said she’d look at other photos and let me know. I sent her a few emails that went unanswered and 2 weeks later, after I messaged her on Facebook I get the pictures on 12/18. Again no sorry nothing. All of this to say I am so disappointed and when I’m paying $300 + $20 per photo I expect it to be professional. I understand maybe you’re overworked but you could show some kindness and communicate with your clients! Follow up with your timelines and especially emails. If you’re not good with email and better on Facebook then say that. I was VERY patient but this was honestly ridiculous, rude and I’m so so upset I wasted...

Lauren does incredible work! I've been booking with her since 2021 and highly recommend her for any maternity/newborn/birthday sessions. I had my second little peanut last year in June and she was very accommodating! She's fantastic with babies and little ones! Her client closet has endless options for you to select from whether you're doing a maternity session or a newborn session. I won't lie, I was a bit nervous at first, not knowing what to expect. But I had the BEST time! Lauren was very accommodating, personable, and funny, and she made me feel comfortable. She was totally open to my ideas and saw the vision of what I wanted from the shoot and directed my poses accordingly. Being a woman of color, I was concerned about her ability to photograph me in the "right light" and she nailed it.
