I decided to stay at a Hilton hotel for the first time when I found out that I was able to obtain a virtual key to use for all areas of the hotel, and to avoid a trip to the front desk for check-in or to check out. I was planning on coming on a late train, so this would make life much easier. I did book the reservation through my credit card rewards portal so that I could prepay for the trip and to redeem points in order to save money on the trip, but it synced to the Hilton app just before the trip for check in. It asked for my credit card for incidentals, which is normal, so I put my card information in the app. The process went smoothly until I saw a pending charge to my card for roughly $458 during our stay that was later posted after we checked out. We took two water bottles from the room and charged a box of Advil from the lobby store to our room, which I’m sure did NOT cost that much. I asked the desk for a copy of my folio for the incidentals at check out, to which she was unable to provide since I booked through a third party. I understood I wouldn’t be able to receive one for the room, but I should have been able to get one for the waters and Advil. I never received any email copies or anything from Hilton. We checked in for a two night stay on the 22nd of September and left on the 24th, and I reached out to Hilton’s customer service as soon as the charge was posted to my account on the 26th, and I have not heard back from anyone since. I am absolutely discouraged that a hotel that has hair on the ceilings and peeling wallpaper in the rooms is attempting to charge me more money than what I already paid for in advance for no reason. When I called the hotel to inquire about the status of my refund, I was told that the manager was on lunch and then, as soon as they were back, I would receive a call, which still has not happened. I would have loved to continue staying with Hilton for the idea of convenience, but due to their lack of customer service, I’ll be looking elsewhere for...
Read moreWe stayed here because we are honors members (I love the hilton brand, breakfast always included) this was above & beyond any other, we always have the usual cold choices and some premade hot, but this offered a sit down order off the menu breakfast for between $8-12 depending what you choose, a kids menu, free juice, coffee, toast, cereal, fruit & yogurt (serve yourself while waiting for ordered food) or a all you can eat buffet for $16/8 for kids. Or just continental for $8. Also, we planned the trip to visit the Basketball hall of fame (literally across the parking lot) with many restaurants also and an UNO Chicago grill in the hotel with live music nightly til 10 pm. We also visited the Dr.suess museum-- what a fun place for grown ups and kids alike!! Ticket pricing includes 5 museums that are 5 mins from hotel. Its called the museum QUADRANGLE. Red rose pizza is a must for REALLY GREAT PIZZA- the small is HUGE!! THE rooms are clean, pool/hottub nice, and the staff are the best at this particular hotel! Best customer service we've experienced at a Hilton group hotel! Even the housekeeping/janitors were friendly and seemed happy to work there! *Special thanks to SARAH @front desk who was there all 3 days we were, friendly & so accomodating and good recommendations. And at breakfastNOAH, JONAH & ANAYA ? not sure if im spelling her name correct? Sorry if it's the wrong spelling- she was our waitress the first morning & she was lovely! Read moreThe Hilton Garden Inn seems to be a great place to obtain a room for a stay. For businesses, conventions or gatherings I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BOOK A ROOM AT THE HILTON GARDEN INN by any means but, to find a different location. Recently the promoter for Ct. Computer Shows contracted the Hilton Garden Inn to hold a COMPUTER SHOW IN ONE OF THE LARGE ROOMS where it was stated prior to the event that we would be placing signs outside the grounds surrounding hotel indicating location of event as we had done in prior years for an event was held here. The hotel manager decided to take them down and refused to allow them to be placed up or speak with us. This is very unprofessional and irresponsible for a member of the Hilton Worldwide Group. Many of the vendors depend on making the last minute Christmas sales and where only 5% of the normal amount of customers attended with many stating they thought the computer show was cancelled as there were no signs outside or inside to indicate location of Computer Show. I along with many other vendors have asked the promoter not to schedule any further events at this hotel. The manager who was negligent and irresponsible in doing his job in ascertaining the clients be happy and successful for they bring in money to the Hilton Garden Inn and in turn to the Hilton Worldwide Group. The date of this event was on Saturday December 11, 2021 7a.m. to 5p.m. (actual event with customers was...
