I attempted to have three family history manuscripts copied (each twice, then bound) and then have the original third volume, rebound. Doing so entailed 8 phone calls and five trips to their store. Each trip resulted in the copy staff screwing up my order (including not making out a ticket that included a count and made a distinction between the black and white pages and the color pages...Each time I walked out of the store completely frustrated with the incompetence of the staff. At last count, I returned from the store with what I thought were the last two copies of the third volume along with the original 3 rd volume, all bound---only to find out when I got home that the ORIGINAL volume is missing (its pages had been printed back to back originally and is easily distinguishable from the two copies that had separate page copies)...what I received back was three copies of the original printed one page per page----without the original copy in sight....Did any body at the store bother to tell me they lost (or destroyed, or whatever) the original copy, and then did a CYA by making an extra copy of a copy and trying to pawn it off on me as the original copy???? Nope. Now I understand that although the binding of the two copies of Vol. 3 and a rebind of the original Vol. 3 were promised for the afternoon of the day I dropped them off (last Friday), why the job was still not ready Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, Sunday night, or Monday morning, each time that I called to check....but by 1 pm on Monday, I finally received a call saying "your three volumes are ready)...mind you, not for printing but for binding, ONLY BINDING.... I for one will NEVER do business with the Springfield, Mo Staples...
Read moreAs far as stars go, im giving the staff member Sandy 5 Stars; there is more work needed by Staples to earn those stars, as stars go.
Regular Staples shopper.
I Usually do not get, or receive much courteous customer service (although the same check out lady is very friendly and helpful each time. She is just as regular to the checkout each time I go.) Today I was nearly taken back. I believe her name was Sandy, and not only did she ask if I was finding everything ok, (which I usually have to hunt for things myself) but she went above that. I have spent 20+ years in customer service, and I realize its ups and downs. Sandy, was a shining example of seeing my level of service. Its rare to find these days. I showed Sandy my list, and she made sure everything on that list was found. Walked me to each item, knew exactly where each item was, and where it could be found; NO HUNTING this time around. I was very, very impressed to receive this level of customer care. Sandy was very pleasant and made my experience much simpler, which on that day, time mattered to me, and I was in and out within minutes (rather than the usual hunting episodes I deal with the at the Independence store) Thank you very much Sandy, I really appreciate your commitment to...
Read moreI went to Staples tonight for the first time ever to print a few shopping labels. The girl who greeted me didn’t help me in the slightest. I told her what I was needing to do and she says “I think you need to go over there” and pointed in a direction with computers so I sat there and paid $5 to use the computer and print two B&W pieces of paper and most of the funds were spent on computer time that could have totally been avoided if she would have took an extra second to show me they have printers that connect right to your email so you don’t have to get on the computer. I was one of the only people in the store so this was due to complete laziness. I’m literally going to buy a printer right now so I never have to deal with...
