Weāve been coming to this restaurant since I was 8 years old. (Back when it was La Mex 20-some years ago lol) Their enchiladas opened up a whole new world for me. The recipe has stayed the same and the menu has only gotten better over the years. I love that they offer black beans, I love both kinds, but itās different than other Mexican fare. They also have the best shrimp in town. I drive hours just to eat here, if that tells you how good it is. I love how they bring you hot crispy tortilla chips and if you canāt handle the heat of jalapenos, you can get pico sans the spicy. Hehe I also love love LOVE their queso! Absolutely no Mexican restaurants I have been to even compare, so I definitely recommend that as a must-try. Also my first love; the shredded beef enchilada. Iām telling you, it will wrap your tummy up in a warm comforting siesta hug. I also really love that you can get blackberry tea here. It is a bit of an up-charge, but if youāre going out, you really should treat yourself, okay? Their red sauce is different than the original recipe, but still good. They also have bomb Mexican rice. Most places it is bland or not well-balanced, but here it is buttery and flavorful, but not overpowering or lacking in any way. Love this place. The staff are always so friendly and on top of their game and the atmosphere is...

Service was excellent. Gave to-go drinks Food lacked a lot. Their salsa they were trying to be too much like Mexican Villa. Queso dip was made with two sharp of a cheese and it did it pair well with their salsa or their chips. Need to use better quality products that Tomatoes were cheap tomatoes that lack flavor and we're bitter. Same way with the lettuce need to be more careful with purchasing heads of lettuce and the type of lettuce they use extremely bitter lettuce. Shredded chicken was well done seasoned well flavored well. The deep fried shell for the taco salad probably would been okay but the oil for the fryer needs to be changed more often as the oil was getting a heavy burnt flavor to it and you can taste it in the shell. Plus probably only need to cook the shells for the taco salads in that particular oil and anything else they happen to fry needs to be done in something else.
Unlike some restaurants that will not give you an empty plate when you order an entree to share the food they asked me if I wanted a plate to share the food with my two-year-old. They even brought additional bowls for her to have salsa and...

The hot "salsa" was basically a little chili verde with a lot of pico de gallo. Not much flavor though. The chips themselves were decent.
I chose the chiles rellenos. At least unlike most "Mexican" restaurants they actually used real cheese in them. That was the extent of the positives. These had no egg batter. Just plain poblanos with a bit of residue of salsa ranchera. Very dry. No flavor. The rice was the typical make believe "Mexican rice" that restaurants bizarrely use these days instead of the traditional Spanish rice that actually has flavor. The beans were the typical flavorless, unseasoned frijoles that restaurants serve these days. Might as well be tofu.
Drinks are disgusting Coke products so I opted for sweet tea. My sweet tea wasn't sweet.
I couldn't finish the disgusting food. The waitress finally brought the check. I promptly placed my payment in it. It wasn't very busy, but the waitress took an unbelievably long time to come take my payment.
I won't be...
