As I was about to leave the gym, a female staff member called out to me very loudly in front of everyone, asking me to wipe down the equipment I had used. I smiled and informed her that I had already done so. She then insisted that the last machine I used, the stair climber, had not been wiped down. Again, I assured her that I had cleaned it, although she may not have noticed.
She responded by saying, âOh, just a reminderâyou are required to wipe down every piece of equipment you use.â I replied that I was aware of this rule. that since this gym does not provide wet wipes (unlike other gyms) and the disinfectant spray was not readily available at that moment, I had used a regular paper towel to wipe the machine after use. Additionally, during my workout, my hands had barely touched the handrails, so I believe the equipment was sufficiently clean.
I would like to express my concern about how the situation was handled. Being called out loudly at the exit while I was already packed and ready to leave was embarrassing and unnecessary. If the staff member had been observing me during my workout, she should have seen that I had wiped down the equipment. Even if she missed it, I believe it would have been more appropriate to check the security cameras first, rather than confronting me so publicly.
Such behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.ďźmaybe she is racist).I hope the staff can be reminded to address similar matters more professionally and respectfully...
Read moreThe only people who don't like this place are the potheads, they just don't like putting their kids before their weed and actually act like a responsible adult and taking care of their kids sober. That's not the YMCA's problem. Their concern is the safety of the children and apparently they're doing a good job at it even if pothead parents don't like it. Grow up. If you don't like it you don't have to be here. The YMCA offers a ton of fitness classes and programs here, and in other facilities. Every YMCA membership is equipped with a nationwide membership which means people can stop complaining about the lack of pool and go to another YMCA that has a pool. Simple solution. There's plenty of public transportation options available if you don't drive. Stop complaining. If you don't like it here cancel your membership. The YMCA offers so much for community wellness including classes, programs, nutrition counseling, personal training, physical therapy, games and more. I support their mission in making better...
