Updated 3/26/25 After a year of having my vehicle the dealership finally reached out to me (a different sales rep) to let me know they are now my new point of contact since my sales rep Jakub is no longer there. After a few months of having my vehicle jakub stopped getting back to us in general with any questions or to even see how we have been doing or if we have concerns we had or yet alone the fact that he had promised us a detail and paint for our van.) well when the new sales representative reached out we had mentioned that to them for us to be only Told sorry but your âSOLâ since jakub isnât there anymore and because he didnât document it they wont do anything for us, which is not fair considering it was âverbalâ right after we purchased. That puts another sour taste in my mouth about their sales tactics and how they treat their customers! I spent 42k on a vehicle with you guys to just get thrown into another loop of lies. âBUYER BEWAREâ.
5/16/24 After getting ahold of my sales rep again I finally got a conclusion about my pay off. The dealership has done everything on their end but Toyota is slacking and just not updating their own records that they have received the check..but in all its sad how many loop holes I have to go through to talk to someone here.
Update 5/16/24 forget to ever get a call back from this dealerships finance office. I purchased my vehicle over a month ago from them and they have still not sent Toyota my payoff and I keep getting bombarded with collections calls from Toyota! Try to call the dealership to speak with finance and nobody ever answers or calls you back! Lowering my rating! Iâm getting really disappointed at the fact this is how you treat your customers?!
Updated: 4/29/2024 Tried to reach out to finance on why my deal must not of been submitted to Honda yet since I canât log in and make an acct and my car is still now showing paid off. Called Honda and they said that they have no information yet and canât pull up any acct so I canât even make a Honda acct with my VIN number. Itâs already been 10 business days since I purchased my vehicle on 4/13. I called the dealership and the sales rep that answered the phone said the standard run around time it takes them is 10-20 days! And to call Honda which I did and they said they cant do anything until they get the information from dealer. I then asked to speak to finance about this and was told nobody was available and they would send a message over to them? They then transferred me to finance and nobody answered of course at 10-11am (I also tried connecting with finance before going this direction and nobody answered ) when I know someone was there around that time on a thursday morning when I called. So I left a message and got no call back from anyone! I then proceeded to reach out to my sales rep by email the same day and still got no response! This dealership already is starting to put a bad taste in my mouth and itâs going on three weeks since my purchase! All in all I hope this dealership send the information i need soon to Honda and sends my payoff before it expires on 5/10 (as that would be the 20th business day!) If this is what they do to wait to get deals sent in for the end of the month itâs ridiculous!
4/19/2024: Jakub our sales rep was great! He wasnât pushy at all! He spent all the time he needed with us to make sure our vehicle purchase was great! Customer service all around was wonderful and the managers worked great to make this deal happen for me and my husband! I purchased a Honda CR-V EX from Honda McGrath of St. Charles this past Saturday. As a woman, Iâve often dreaded car shopping alone due to the dismissive treatment Iâve experienced in the past. Thankfully, my father and brother-in-law came with me, and with their presence, the dealership offered polite service and even negotiated on the price. Unfortunately, the moment I returned alone with a serious concern, they were still polite but it was clear they didnât actually care and werenât going to help me.
By Monday, I was experiencing severe pain from the seat due to pre-existing back and nerve issues. I immediately contacted the dealership and visited twice. Each time, I was dismissed, given excuse after excuse about managers being in meetings, and even had my calls dropped and ignored. I was left waiting aimlessly for over half an hour until I began personally approaching salesmen just to be acknowledged. After nearly an hour, a sales manager finally showed upâhis demeanor and stare was superficial and condescending tone that made me deeply uncomfortable.
Whatâs worse is that during the sale, I was only shown one vehicleâironically, Iâm a different lot from another dealerâand was rushed through a five-minute test drive. I was very clear that I needed a seat with excellent lumbar support due to medical reasons. The salesperson acknowledged this, yet failed to show me a single other vehicle that may have been better suited to my needs.
When I returned with complaints of serious pain, I was met with zero empathy. There was no apology, no ownership of the oversight. Several hours later, instead; they offered to buy back the vehicle at a steep financial loss to meâthousands of dollars gone after just one day and 100 miles driven. I was even asked if Iâd told my brother-in-law and father about my complaint, as if I needed their permission or validation to be taken seriously.
All I wanted was fair treatment and the same opportunity any other customerâespecially any male customerâwould receive. Instead, I was rushed through the process, misled about my options, and then completely dismissed when I came back with a legitimate and painful issue. My medical needs were clearly communicated, and they were flat-out ignored. The dealershipâs unwillingness to take responsibility or offer a meaningful resolution shows a complete lack of compassion, professionalism, and ethical business practices. I left feeling not just disappointed, but devaluedâas a customer and as a woman. This experience has left a lasting negative impact on my health and peace of mind, and I will never step foot in McGrath Honda of St. Charles again.
