I moved in right before Covid 19 shut down the city, which means that right after I arrived basically all the cool amenities went away - can't use the gym, the pool, the common areas, the free cocoa, most packages aren't put in Luxor, etc. Given all that, I still give five stars! I'd like to preface here that I've lived in a variety of apartments and townhomes over the past twelve years. All at a MUCH lower pricepoint than Grand Flats. This is my first time in a luxury apartment complex, and boy they did not undersell it. Although the endemic issues native to apartments remain - some noise issues, sharing hallways and elevators and trash/recycling services - the noise is MUCH lower than I'm used to in cheaper apartments. In fact, other than the occasional outburst of the dog next door, I usually don't hear much at all. I'm used to footsteps overhead, yelling through the walls, singing, coughing, sounds of talking or TV...none of that here! It's amazing! The dog park and the garden area are much smaller than I had thought - I moved here from out of state without touring in person first - but they do the trick when I can't get my dog out for a proper walk. There are THREE parks within walking distance, and tons more residential walking areas with safe sidewalks and lamps for light at night. Phenomenal proximity to many of my favorite StL restaurants, very thorough and routine cleaning of all shared facilities, the apartment is so new I found manuals in all the appliances when I moved in. The balcony is fantastic. I have been told by a neighbor that living on the street side is worse, because a lot of emergency vehicles go past. I'm on the parking lot side and have no issue. I'm super impressed with the security measures, and even though things take a little longer with pandemic restrictions, anything I have issues with is generally resolved within a week. Anything that has gone wrong has been basically a minor inconvenience at worst, which if you're used to cheaper apartment living, is insanely great. And I love my fridge. In short, I was originally planning on a short term rental while I searched to buy a home, but now I'm planning to extend my lease for at least a few more months. Quarantine in this complex has been so darn easy I barely noticed any inconveniences! I also love my closet. And my balcony. And I think the AC ecobee unit is pretty neat too. Ooh, and the...

I’m not going to renew my lease. I’ve lived here for almost a year. And here are the reasons why: The coffee maker downstairs isn’t working half the time.
The dog run area stinks to heaven most of the time. They need to clean or replace that Astroturf.
The dog spa sinks really bad too and they haven’t replaced the towels Since I’ve lived here, or washed the dirty ones in the bin in there.
Most of the time when I go to work out, there aren’t any towels in the gym or paper cups for water. There weren’t any towels several times I went in there.
It’s honestly not much of a luxury apartment. It feels like it when you first walk in, but the amenities inconveniences just aren’t there.
Oh, WORST OF ALL There is no Maintenance emergency number. I have asked for one several times and the staff Says there isn’t one & just put in a maintenance request with high-priority. I asked them if a maintenance request was high priority will get me a call ASAP, and they said it will be the next business day. I asked them what happens if I have an actual maintenance emergency. They just said sorry we don’t have one. I have managed to get the personal phone number of a couple of the maintenance people but that’s uncomfortable and I shouldn’t have to be put in this position. Furthermore, they haven’t answered when I’ve called.
One time, I needed to call the Maintenance emergency phone number, & I ended up having to stay the weekend at my friends house until I can get a hold of someone on Monday.
There are smaller things as well, such as that there was a bunch of of hair in my sink when I moved in. But I overlooked that, at the time, thinking I was moving into a great place.
What am I paying this high rent for?
PS. These problems didn’t exist until the old manager left and I think August. So when you are reading reviews, keep that into account. Things went down after that. Back then, there was a maintenance emergency line. You could call after hours,… And all of the other problems weren’t as bad. Although, in my opinion, it still wasn’t the level of a luxury apartment. And I’ve lived in luxury apartments for years. I imagine going forward you will get more of...
Read moreI just relocated here from Florida due to a career choice. I have always lived in a home or townhome. I flew in 2x from FL to find housing. I was so discouraged and felt a sense of doom not knowing where I would live. I was driving back to my hotel and came across Grand Flats. I literally stopped the car and ran inside to see the inside not expecting to have a tour or listen to their pitch. Needless to say I found my HOME! You ask me what sold me on Grand Flats, their customer service Jeannine. I felt all I needed was a doorman, and knowing now they would be my doorman. Their up to date layout and modern flare with the love of tenants and pets sold me. This facility is an all in one. I love the inside homey feeling that you can come down and relax with the big screen and feel your in your own apt. I like all the little things they do for us, they say the smallest things are the biggest things in life. Since moving from FL I am at a lost since this is my first to move 37 yrs ago. They took all the guesswork out for me, Jeannine stated, not to worry they will do it all for me just come home, they will do the rest. When you talk to her on the phone you can tell she's happy through her voice when she speak to you, such a wonderful personality and demeanor. I would love and challenge anyone to...
