Winn-Dixie — Local services in Starke

This location is pretty nice. The store is always clean with clean and decent-sized restrooms, friendly employees, well-stocked, wide-selection, good bakery, and a deli.

The cakes and deserts made here are usually pretty good with good decoration. The glazed donuts and danish have always been fresh and absolutely delicious. They have a good rewards program, and as long as you're signed up, the sales are really good.

This location also has a pharmacy, lottery, tobacco, alcohol (wines, liquor, and beer), a coinstar machine, atm, floral department, steam cleaner rentals, self-checkout and cashier checkout, and a Redbox (outside).

The only issue I've ever had is with the deli employees. The store usually runs good prices on the deli-made fried chicken and the employees must get tired of having to make it. I've found that they will flat out refuse to drop more if there are any of the pre-boxed sitting on the warmer rack (even if it's the opposite of the kind that you are trying to buy). There have also been times where they have gotten really testy if they realize that they are going to have to drop more in the fryer because they have run out. This is the main reason for docking a star on the review.

This particular winn dixie sell eggs near the expiration date within a couple of weeks of expiring also they have nearly rotten bags of greens that they put on sale a couple of days before it's expiration date expire and I bought two bags of them and when I got home and opened the bags up it smelled like a dead animal discussing, stop selling rotten meat and other rotten products closing in on it's expiration date, this store only put their foods etc. on sale when it's almost about to expire and thats sad this place is all about the money and don't seem to care or not if customers get food poisoning from their bad products. winn dixie is extremely overpriced compared to other groceries stores so there is know reason to be selling rotten foods because they are making a killing off...

Constant outstanding customer service! Even when faced with challenging customers- staff always are pleasant. Walking around...you will ALWAYS be greeted with a huge smile and an offer of their assistance. Once you visit a couple time...you really feel like you are in a hometown market. Staff REALLY remember you. I would travel out of my way to shop at this location! The pride the employees have in their store is evident. Produce is ALWAYS displayed beautifully and never in poor condition. Cleanliness is NEVER an issue- even in the bathrooms. Stock on shelves is obviously placed with extreme care.
