In reply to Julian and Lauren, thank you for the compliment on my service the other day. This is your waitress from Wednesday and I appreciate that I was able to make your visit better, even if just a little bit. I did want to clarify some concerns raised in your reviews. First of all, we only use freshly cut and seasoned vegetables and meats in our food. This freshness is the basis of our made to order meals. I am curious about what body language I used that communicated to you that I was disappointed or ashamed of the food I was serving you so I am not unconsciously sending the wrong message to future customers. I am very proud of working here. I had never tried Thai food before starting here. Now Thai food, especially Tip’s Thai food is some of my favorites.
I do find it interesting that there were at least two half inch long pieces of chicken just in the top of the fried rice I brought to you when I took your plate to the back to wash. The base of stir fry rice is white steamed rice that is then fried. There is also no coconut milk involved. I would just like to clear that misconception up. I was informed by the owner ( and one the one who cooked both of your meals) that she put 6 scallops in your basil stir fry.
I would also like to add that 99.9% of our appetizers are homemade. The only exception is the high quality options we have for the .1% that are very difficult ingredients to find from quality Asian food suppliers. I am truly sad that your dining experience was far from satisfying to both of you. I do hope you were able to still have a good night together.
I understand feeling the need to let other people know to avoid any negative experiences you may have perceived. Your sense of obligation to others is admirable. I would suggest, however, for the next time you feel responsible to review, that it would be helpful to bring up your concerns to the staff in a way that is more productive for everyone. Please feel able to speak up and let us know your concerns in the future instead of expressing them in a way that does not give our staff a chance to address what you have to say. We want to be able to answer your questions face to face rather than over online reviews if possible.
Again, thank you speaking up for what you felt the need to say, and please don’t be afraid to fact check so that you can be sure you are giving the most honest testimony possible. proud to...
Read moreI never leave reviews, but I feel the need to because this was hands down one of the worst meals I’ve ever received from a restaurant. We ordered potstickers as an appetizer, and received tiny, microwaved potstickers that were pan seared on each side to give the appearance that it was “fresh.” I got chicken fried rice, and my boyfriend ordered seafood stir fry. My boyfriend’s meal came with four small sized shrimp, and four mussels. I couldn’t even find any chicken in my meal. The rice was steamed white rice (not fried) and drenched in coconut milk. The vegetables for both of our dishes came from a bag of mixed frozen vegetables, which were microwaved, and then mixed with the rice (you could taste freezer burn when you ate the broccoli). The “pepper and sauce” rack was filthy and sticky when you lifted the lid to each container, so they’re not being washed often. We spent $50 on a meal I could’ve prepared for cheaper at home. The only reason I’m giving it a two-star rating, and not one, is because the waitress was extremely kind, attentive...
Read moreMy second visit to Tip Thai was not as remarkable as the first. I ordered the Eggplant and vegetables with some spice but someone forgot the spice. It was ok but I probably won't order it again. The crab cheese was a little overcooked. My husband was happy with his basil beef. I will still go back and try some of the other dishes. My first visit-I am so happy to have found a local establishment with such great tasting food. I love Thai food and this place did not disappoint. We got the Basil beef and it was so tasty. The portions are generous, the sauce was amazing with a nice balance of flavor and lots of vegetables which we like. I also got the crab cheese which was like crab rangoon and it was the best I have ever had. The crust was a really cool quarter moon shape and generously filled with crab cream cheese. It also came with a yummy dipping sauce. I added a cup of Tom Cha which is my favorite soup ever with its bright lemongrass flavored broth and this was delicious. We can't wait to go back and try...
