I have received overall great service from this place. Steve is a great guy, very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his customers. Lately I've had an issue, though. They installed a starter in my 2008 Honda Accord last October because it seemed like the better option than paying $550 for a new Honda starter with no warranty. The starter has a 1 year warranty and quit after 8 months. I'm almost 44 years old and have never in my life heard of a new starter only lasting 8 months. So when I took it back recently they replaced the starter with the same starter that failed after 8 months and charged me again the full price of labor - 2 hours at $95 an hour = $190. Unfortunately Steve was unavailable at the time I picked the car up and I was disappointed. Steve called me just a few hours after posting my original review today, asking why I only gave 3 stars and why I put blame on Car Star for the starter failing so soon. He explained to me that unfortunately so much of the auto parts we buy nowadays are made in China, where there is lack of quality control and there is no telling whether you get a good or bad part until it fails. I was already aware of this, but he made it clear that the starter I got the first time failing so soon was not the fault of Car Star. He also said that he would take care of me if this second starter fails early, which is good to know. I'm thinking a decent starter should last more like 8 years, not 8 months. The original Honda starter lasted 10 years, but Steve told me that to replace the original Honda starter with another Honda starter no longer guarantees you are getting a quality part because due to the age of the vehicle, it would likely be a remanufactured one sold as new, perhaps made in China as well. The point is that Steve does his best to make his customers happy but unfortunately there are things that happen sometimes with these China made parts that are beyond...

I was referred to CarStar of Sterling Heights and am SO GLAD I brought my Ford Edge to them after being involved in a hit and run accident. From the moment I dropped the car off to the day I picked it up, the manager, LAITH, kept me informed about the progress of the repair. They also provided me a loaner while my car was being repaired. When I picked the car up today, it was absolutely SPOTLESS! Not only did they wash the outside, the inside of the car looked like it just rolled off a car dealer's showroom floor. The attention to detail and thoroughness to ensure everything was taken care of was undeniably priceless! To give CarStar of Sterling Heights a 5-star review just doesn't seem like enough stars. Starting my review early. Went to tons of repair shops to get my trunk and bumper repaired on my mustang gt. All of them didn't want to look at it, had attitude or didn't care about the army story behind it.

I stopped in at car star of sterling heights and the front desk man was awesome....came out and estimated it on the spot was very genuine to the circumstances and was amazing. Alongs the quote stays to what they say and they do an amazing job I have a huge lot of cars from a partner that always needs some repairs. They will be going here for now on.
