I walked in the door by the old customer service desk for a catalog pick up. There was a sign saying the register was closed. So I start to walk into the store kind of looking around and a customer on their way out told me I need to find a register because that's what she had to do.

Read moreWhile i feel bad for the employees its obvious why this store and many like it are rapidly dying. Misleading sales ads, sloppy shelves, overpriced clothing and shoes. I can easily go to a Marshalls or TJ Maxx and get higher quality brands of clothing at cheaper prices. Not to mention the vast amount of items i have no interest in that take up huge swaths of the store. Mostly items i would easily find online. Store has no identity. Stuck between a discount clothing store and an overpriced department store. Pick one. Preferably the discount variety. If i want to spend $100 on dress shoes I'll go to Aldo or somewhere i know the quality is worth the price. Same with the clothing. I hope for the employees sake that the store survives. But if they don't embrace modern technology and find a niche in the market i fear JC Penny will be just a nostalgic topic of conversation for people...
