(I will be using my Pokémon ruby game for reference when talking about Pokémon emerald)
I’m sure the people at Gamer World are really nice, but what they did kind of rubs me the wrong way.
So, I went to Gamer World because a good friend of mine recommended it. he told me they had a lot of Game Boy SP games, and I wanted to collect all the Pokémon games for the Game Boy SP. We asked them if they had any Pokémon games, and they said yes. They went behind the register and brought out a Pokémon Emerald cartridge. I was ecstatic. anyone would be. It looked like a mint-condition Pokémon Emerald. But but I was quickly disappointed when I realized it was fake. I looked at the front for any printed numbers that indicate a real cartridge . nothing. That sucked. I thought maybe the shell was fake but the board inside could be real, so I flipped it over to check the soldering numbers on the back. Again, nothing. It looked like someone handed a soldering iron to a kid and let them poke random holes into it. At that point, I was pretty sure it was fake. That was disappointing, but I figured he’d tell me something like, “Oh, this is a reproduction, I can give it to you for $40.” But no I was wrong. He looked me dead in the eyes and said, “I can give it to you for $180.” My mouth dropped. You know how much you can get these games online? You can buy them at Walmart for like $14. I was shocked. I subtly hinted that I knew what a real game looked like. I said, “I have a real Pokémon LeafGreen at home.” I looked at him, hoping he’d catch on that I wasn’t just some clueless buyer. And still, he looked at me and said, “Yeah, I’ll give it to you for $180.”I know what a real one looks like. I just didn’t want to be rude or call him out—I wanted him to catch on without me having to say it. But he didn’t. So I just said, “Oh, okay. I’ll be back.” And I never came back. I bet those guys are really nice people, but trying to sell me a fake game for $180? That’s crazy. Thank God I knew my stuff—because if I didn’t, I would’ve wasted $180 on a fake game that crashes and loses save files every three times...
Read moreWhere do I even start…. These people sold me a broken guitar for $60(realized when I got home )it turns out those guitars only go for $20 max(Wii guitar)these same people also sold my brother a “modded ps3 “ no cables and no controller $200. PS3 wasn’t even modded and I still bought a $35 controller for it . When I brought the console back for him to work on it was my biggest mistake . He lagged on this ps3 for weeks and when I finally came in for it turns out he didn’t even start on it bunch of time wasted .i couldn’t even get a refund not even for the controller that i bought from him separately. He even tried saying he never sold me a controller (he was lying bro is a scam)honestly the no refunds was a huge red flag please don’t make the same mistakes I did . There’s really nothing I can do ps3 never got modded all he gave me was store credit . I don’t even want no store credit I just wanted what he promised couldn’t even tell me the truth to my face . Read moreI went in last week to check this place out because I collect Atari games. I’m not sure if it was the owner or the manager working that day but he was very helpful and friendly. I picked out a few carts from his stock and he looked up going prices on ebay and gave me great deals on all the games I picked up. I picked up 9 games that day and I let him know I lived an hour away and wouldn’t be able to come back for an exchange in 24 hours and he told me I could come back anytime and exchange the games if there was anything wrong with them. I took them home and cleaned them and they all work just fine! On my way out he let me pick a complimentary soda from his soda cooler. He was awesome and I...
