I never write reviews EVER! But i am so disheartened by my experience today, I figured as a LOCAL of 30+ years, I WILL NEVER STRP FOOT IN THE PLACE AGAIN!!! After years of exceptional service (so much so that they catered my wedding 12+ years ago) Mystic Market has ācrapped the bedā. I went in to grab a quick lunch w my daughter. There is one employee there named ROBIN. She is a must avoid! She is old and nastier than tar herself. After ordering two sandwiches my daughter and so weāre at the far end waiting to be called. She had made herself a coffee to which she put on the counter next to her (a common practice). Two others came over to check out. I stood up and moved the coffees over out of their way. Robin put her hands on my daughters and pushed it over even more. Unnecessary (just being her typical rude self). I walked to the other end to grab sandwiches and noticed that the boy making them was making them incorrect (as always) and interjected before it was too late. It literally was supposed to be GRILLED CHIX AND CHEESE pressed. Not deli chixā¦. I saw another item to purchase and walked down to the far register where Robin was. I put my card in the machine. She snapped āNOPE!ā I removed my card. She said is there a problem. I said ā yes, you are incredibly rude.. you donāt speak to people like this. Iām not ready yet or just a moment please...ā Not āNOPE!ā All hell ensued⦠she argued back. I went to the other end to get management and Charles #. Manager Brittany came Out of the back to diffuse the situation. I explained that every time Iām the ere a Robin is rude. Robin continued in (so unprofessional). I called her a nasty name, she replied backā¦. Blah blah blah. She just doesnāt know when to stop. This is NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WITH HER. I mentioned i would call Charles the owner and she puffed her chest saying I was name dropping⦠I appreciateD Brittany, however i was very angry. I left to go to my car and ended up storming back in bc my daughter was covered in hot coffee! I asked what happened and was told that Robin pushed her coffee toward her AGAIN AND SPILLED IT ALL OVER HER FRONT while i was talking to Brittany. Furious, I went back in and asked for management. I was told my the young male who incorrectly made our sandwich, that i couldnāt talk to the manager and staff and had. to leave. I demanded to talk to her and asked the manager to come to my car so I removed us from the store front. She saw hot coffee spilled on my daughters front. I have 199 points w Mystic Markey. For those of you who are local and sign in you know that you have to have 200 to get the gc for one of the other restaurants. You can only check in 1 time per visit. That proves that i have been there at least 199 times if not twice in a dayā¦. I am one pint short and I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE! Ever since they went corporate and their young staff left they are not worth a penny! I hope Robin is dealt with (FIRED) and Charles is lucky I donāt sue his company for spilling hot coffee all over my 11 year old!!!! The fact that so took the time to write this proves my disgust for this placeā¦....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had this awesome butterscotch cheesecake at a restaurant and was told it was made at Mystic Market East. We were so excited to find out we could buy it not at the restaurant. So we were excited and couldn't wait to go. We arrive and our excitement quickly fizzled when ny boyfriend's wheelchair couldn't access the market. Absolutely nothing worse than a place not accessible to everyone. So he had to wait in the car while I went in. So disappointing.but for able bodied no disabilities people it had a coffee bar, dessert section, prepared meal section, deli and variety of different kinds of salad, pasta salad etc... Also had a little section of grocery items. I grabbed the butterscotch cheesecake but it looks nothing like the cheesecake at the restaurant and because it has choc and im allergic I couldn't even get a piece. I had to settle for vanilla cheesecake with cherries. Just disappointed but it is what it is. Went on a Saturday and the traffic was crazy and the market was crazy as well. My new favorite grinder the Jammin turkey. Seriously so delicious. It comes on multi grain bread but I have it as a grinder. My favorite place for dessert and now...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a place that I have raived about for many years. This quaint little place is just as much a part of Historic Mystic CT as the history of Mystic itself. It's like walking into a bakery, sandwich shop, and a catering establishment all in one that will also prepare your order to take home to the family. On the other hand, if you wake up and want to take your significant other some place for fresh pastries a special blend of coffee or tea to go along with a quiet chat or, just read your morning paper, this is it. All of their foods are made fresh in this huge kitchen where you can watch through this big glass window. The show case where they display their different delicacies and prepared meals are outstanding. The staff is outstanding and very friendly. And, the food and the customer service surpasses all other chains you may have tried. I guarantee that you will not leave this place empty handed or, come back again. Like to eat good food, try Mystic Market East, you won't be...
