J&R Seafood Market — Restaurant in Stonington

Until yesterday, I was not aware that The Pita Spot and more recently Mezza had become a Mediterranean Market and was no longer a restaurant. Last evening, I called for takeout and was informed of the change by the owner Vivian. She also informed me that they were closed at the time, but that they were still on site, finishing up their work day. Vivian then asked me what it was that I was looking for. I told her that I was craving a LaLa Chicken and some other items off the Mezza menu which I still found online. Vivian then told me that she had a variety of ready made meals available and said she would still be there if I wanted to stop in soon. I told Vivian that I would be in soon. Ten or so minutes later, I arrived to Vivian preparing a LaLa Chicken on the grill. It was a great surprise and so wonderful of her. This was beyond excellent customer service. I also bought a variety of ready made meals, and let me say, the Eggplant Pinwheels are a must try. They are amazing! Bottom line, this is top notch and interesting food with a lot of heart prepared by some awesome folks...but please, don’t take all the Eggplant Pinwheels. Leave...

J&R catered my wedding reception this last Saturday. They hit a home run! They were punctual, professional and the presentation was incredibly well done. The details stood out and I cannot recommend them enough for any of your oyster and shrimp cocktail catering needs.

Going into the planning I had no idea what to do or where to start.
