Recently, my husband got back into the model train hobby and I suggested he visit a physical store to plan out his design. After looking at many reviews, we took a day trip to Strasburg with our main objective of chatting with a few like minded individuals and forming a plan. Everyone in the store was very knowledgeable and patient! My husband can get very involved in his thoughts but the associates were very patient and kind and shared all their valuable insight. In addition, they had TONS of trains and tracks in stock as well as scenery props. Actually, they had a SUPER selection of props and design elements. Lastly, I, personally, was drawn into the garden railroad sales room. There is truly something for everyone and the sales staff is exceptional! Visiting Strasburg? Make it a stop if only to browse. One of the best, if not the best model train store I've ever been to, my day was going great already since I got a ride on Strasburg R.R #90, and these guys made it even better. I came all the way from Poland to see Strasburg and this shop was on a very short list, and it was worth every single minute i spent there. The store is really big, and they will help you find or get almost anything. Lots of H0, N, G, 0 scale equipment such as : Trains, Buildings, Tracks literally anything! I found this shop while my husband was enjoying the o scale exhibit at the Choo Choo Barn beside them. The owner was super friendly and was able to talk to me on the level of my own understanding. He shared with me some tips for my husband's layout and was kind. They have a lot of new and used items for sale. Way more than the shops I have seen in Ohio. I love that they had consignment options as well so that you can acquire pieces that match the older trains that have been passed down.
