Two stars because I believe there's value in an experience, and honestly it's worth peeking into this bizarre and confusing place.
It seems as though the vendors are never there. See something you want? Too bad. There's no one there to buy from. Tons of stuff, but inevitably the thing you want to buy is in an unattended booth. Or maybe, the vendor is that old gentleman eating a hot dog and watching Fox News, which is playing on the flat screen. He doesn't say hello, either way. It seems to me that if you have a booth with things to you want to sell, you should maybe be there to sell them.
At least half of the "store" is just piles of dusty, moldy junk. Boxes block whatever aisles there may be in the vendor's space. Things seem to be actively decaying before your eyes, here a water damaged bookshelf ($35) sheds chunks of particle board on the floor, there, on top of a collapsing table, nails rust in a display case, mouldering shoes flop over to the floor, a hammer with a split handle rests next to a chipped John Deere mug. Price stickers are useless, as there isn't anyone to buy from even if you wanted to. The lights flicker, there is a slight buzzing sound.
You wander along, until suddenly a disheveled gentleman tumbles from a stack of VHS tapes and looks at you with sunken eyes, eyes you've seen in dark alleyways in the city. He isn't a vendor, either. He may have been abducted, purchased with a storage unit he was living in, but now he's HERE. He disappears quickly behind a display case full of Troll dolls and dust mites and cobwebs. You don't see him again.
The place smells of old shoes, dank basements, bologna, despair. A sign in one booth says "Need help? Call Mike.". You wonder what "help" Mike may offer. You realize that you're on your third circuit around the building. A few other shoppers shuffle about with you. They are just as confused as you. It begins to feel like if you don't dive for the door right now, you'll be pulled in-sucked in- and spend the rest of your days zombified and wandering amongst the aisles of garbage, forever looking for the vendor selling VCRs and shampoo and plastic bullets and rusty saw blades.
You should go. ...
Read moreI purchased a base for an adjustable bed from Wholesale Discount Furniture he only offers a 90 day lay away after I purchased the base I found out about a grant I could use from Kevin Coleman I brought the paperwork to Dave the owner it was for the purchase to be tax free and set up payment. First Dave told me he needed his accountant to fill out the paperwork I waited months before getting back with him. His excuse was in the past people just purchased from him and took their receipt to Kevin Coleman and were reimbursed my Case Manager didn't think that was the case. I explained to Dave if they once did that they no longer did business this way and that was why they needed the paperwork filled out again I waited months for the paperwork when I called no one ever answered the phone so I did a charge back with my bank explaining why I wanted my money back how no one would answer the phone and I had never received the product because I didn't have the mattress for it and couldn't put my current mattress on that base. Well he would not cooperate with the bank and I didn't get my money back. One of the letters from the bank said I should contact Dave and wow he answered the phone this time but changed his story now his lawyers told him not to get involved that in the past a receipt was given to Colman and HE got a check again I told Dave Coleman no longer did business that way. He did say I could have my money back but I didn't have a car at that time so my case manager from Coleman took me from Ravenna to Streetsboro so I could get my money back. I'm still out of a bed and will not recommend anyone do business with this shady man who refuses to work with lower income people of Portage County. I need an adjustable bed do to health problems. I had also planned on making another purchase from him so he is out a good $1,700.00 and I pray this report costs...
