Where do I start reading the recent reviews I can understand more of what happened to me today. I walked in the store with no care in the world, just a girl needing a new foundation because her old one expired. There was hardly anyone in the store, probably because if this is how employees make everyone feel, like how they made me feel, I could understand why no one is shopping at your establishment. I had my phone and wallet, no purse, no bag, but the bag that they let you go shopping with. I put my wallet and phone in the bag. I got to the elf section to see about this new skin tint everyone is raving about. There were multiple of their products open. I tried to see which one is closest to my skin tone because there were no testers, so I picked up one that was clearly open that I thought would match. To then get told I'm not allowed to do that from one of the workers who clearly looks like she hates working there and obviously profiling me for god knows what. I said, "Oops, I'm sorry, I just opened one that was open. All of these other ones are clearly opened and dirty." She was like, "Oh well, you can't do that." I didn't say a word back and continued to the Fenty section to try and get my normal foundation since I couldn't try the Elf one. I go to the Fenty side and the foundations were there, but there was a lot of products missing. They didn't have any primers. As I was in the Fenty side, there was an employee walking around me like it wasn't obvious that you're looking at me suspiciously, not even asking if I need help. A couple mins go by, I'm still browsing. Another employee asks me if I'm ok. I say, "Yes, thank you." I grabbed what I wanted and I continued to the fragrance section to get a perfume I need. After that, the same employee that was following me from Fenty was near me by the perfume, so I figured I'd put her to actual work, so I asked for the perfume I needed and she told me it will be up at the front waiting for me. I said thank you, but was also thinking, "Where am I gonna put a 3.5 oz bottle of the Ariana Grande Cloud on me?" When I have no bags, skin-tight leggings, just clearly the bag that the store lends you. Like, let's be for real here. After I went to the skincare section because I needed a cleanser, I knew what I wanted, but ran into the Tatcha and was reading products because, you know, people do that when you're trying to shop for something and don't really know what to get. Still being followed by the same girl from Fenty and the perfume section. Mind you, I'm pretty sure she's a makeup artist. I don't know why she's the one everywhere I was, but at that point, I got annoyed and grabbed the wrong product, thinking I had my cleanser, but I didn't because of how uncomfortable and angry I was. So now I have to return the product tomorrow because I felt so rushed. Thank God when that happened, other people came to shop, so eyes were off me for the time being, which let me get a little more relaxed and finish with my shopping. And it wasnt like there was maybe 2 or 3 more customers but because they were of different descent maybe that's why they weren't being followed. If you lasted this long to read this I hope whatever manager is there get it the hell together! Worry more about stocking the store with products that aren't separating, or dusty more or cleaning the disgusting test tubes that people's fingers are all up in, or just cleaning in general. Instead of profiling people and making store card holders, or any person feel uncomfortable. Anyways almost 300 dollars later should have sufficed to tell the employees that I was there to spend my money not...
Read moreI absolutely do not recommend their salon service. I made an appt. in-store to have my hair toned. I showed the stylist, AJ, who I was told would be doing my hair the pictures of what I wanted. She said, "Like a really pale pink." I said, "No. Not pink. I can't have any kind of pink showing where I work. I just had to remove the purple I had on my roots, which is why I have this gold band." The hair in the picture is blonde, but slightly peachy compared to my pale, cool blonde. She said okay and she can definitely do that. I went in for my appt. Friday, Sept. 1st. She starts by using a violet to get brassiness out. After two times it worked and it looked pretty good, to be honest. Then, I'm sitting in the chair facing the store, and she starts applying toner to my hair. No, it was not toner. She turned me to the mirror and I had Poppy Troll coloured pink dye all along my roots. I saw it was bright pink Redken City Beats. I said it was really pink and she said it would be lighter when it washed out. After she washed it, it was still pink. She said it would, "mostly wash out after the first few washes. And I wanted you to get your money's worth." I DID NOT ASK FOR PINK HAIR. Putting a colour in my hair, that I specifically said I did not and could not have, and then telling me it will wash out, is NOT getting my money's worth. And I was charged for additional colour! I called their main line and explained my case and I was told the salon manager would contact me within 24hrs. I was contacted the next day, Sept. 2nd, while I was at work, so I called back on my break. NeNe told me she would remove the colour and fix my hair. "It's an easy fix. About 20 minutes," is what she said. She asked if I could come in that day and I said I was working. She asked about tomorrow and I told her I was not able to. I said I'm working until 4, and she told me I could come in after work. She then said she has a haircut at 4, so I could have her fix it at 4:30. I left work at 4:30 and walked up to the store, since I work in the same strip. Waited until 4:45 and then she takes me back to get started. After having to smell strong colour remover on my head and sitting under the processor, it was rinsed and conditioned. By the way, you're supposed to condition a lot longer than a minute after using chemical on your hair. Most places do a deep conditioning. Still have pink spots in my hair. My overall tone is now coral. I have a patch of dark pink hair underneath on just the right side of my head. My hair looks like I spent $10 on a box of colour at a CVS and now it's washing out. Not worth the $161 they charged me. Not even close. I said I am still unhappy with it, and all I was offered was to keep coming back to have it fixed. I do not want them touching my hair anymore. I don't trust them, as they clearly don't know what they are doing. Why was I charged for pink dye I specifically said I could not have in my hair? Why was I charged for a violet toner that has been basically wasted since my hair is now pinkish-orange? It completely counteracted the purpose of the violet. I asked for a full refund and I was told it's not possible, and that they were offering $60 in complementary toning. Um, you made my hair pink. It's your fault. It's not complementary of you to fix your horrible error. I don't even want them touching my hair anymore, though. Two visits and 5 and a half hours and it's actually worse than what I...
Read moreHorrible staff, no education of products or even want to help locate products they "don't carry" yet finding a whole display. Staff just stand around chatting. Members of the staff dress highly inappropriately, working in an industry that prides itself on beauty, fashion and image. Salon is a mess. No talent, do not know how to multitask and ruined my hair. NEVER again. Charge for services not rendered and refuse to refund you only to offer a better service or more "qualified" stylist your next visit! Shouldn't every stylist be capable of performing their craft? Why would anyone want to go back after a disaster? I did, was charged full price, in addition to a non-existent blow dry, and had to move on to another stylist/salon to fix the mess having to lop my hair off. I'm glad Sephora opened. This Ulta is the worst!!! I'd give zero stars if I was able An additional encounter Went in for the second time due to a broken pump. First time they acknowledged it and replaced it. Second time (2 weeks later), the girl at the cashier starts pumping the serum out a few times, it's spraying everywhere as clearly seen. A manager is brought over. She opens the bottle "it is empty. You may want to buy a bigger bottle and the pump is fine". First off, she wasn't standing there when a good teaspoon of product was pumped on the counter. Secondly, if she knew her product lines then she would know a bigger bottle doesn't exist. Then another onto my hand to show the problem. The bottle is 1 fl oz and is not inexpensive. This is a serum used MAYBE 3 times per week sparingly, according to the manufacturer. Back to Ulta and the management. I purchase quite a lot. I am a card holder and can attest to what I spend and the fact I've NEVER returned one single item EVER to the store. Not the broken scrub brush, the coffee scub bar that just turned to dust upon opening, the shampoo and conditioner in which the conditioner held shampoo! Yet I was treated poorly and the customer service is the worst. I wasn't trying to get a free product or a new one. Her attitude was unacceptable. This is why I can say I am done with this store. Another time, they couldn't use the promo coupon because of a gliche in their system. I was told to let them know when I came in again so they could adjust the receipt. I did so and not one person had a clue. Sephora is...
