This place is amazing, hands down. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the people. I was in town for business for 3 days, I came here every day. Nothing on the menu was bad, it was all great. They have a soup of the day which when I was there was hamburger soup one night and Philly cheesesteak another night. The soup is more brothy than filling. Very delicious but again mostly just broth. I also had the chili which was thick and chunky and absolutely delicious. I was able to try their award winning wings which are indeed award winning. Not too hot either, I got hot flavor and they weren't hot but bursting with flavor instead. Entree wise I got the Italian Cheesesteak one night, the jumping jack burger another night and then the creme de le creme, Prime Rib! Wednesday night is their prime rib special, beautifully cooked, flavorful and tender. I actually stopped to get a picture of it. Steak, starch and veggies all for $19 which is crazy to find a prime rib under $20. Everything was equally as tasty as the last, you can't go wrong eating here. As far as the staff, everyone was awesome. I spoke to Steve and Joe most. Steve is the general manager and the 1st night I was there we chatted for a bit about tattoos (I have a Playstation sleeve on my arm he noticed) and we began to nerd out which took me by surprise cause Steve is a tall, built, bald, intimidating guy when you look at him. You'd have no idea he was a big nerd and very friendly. Anyways, there's a reason I came here 3 nights in a row. If you're in town, especially staying at the hotel next door, come here. You won't regret it!

Have been here a handful of times. Lacks consistency. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it sucks. The first time we went – it was great! Sucked the second time. Then the same for next 2x. It makes it hard to decide if we want to eat here or not. This time around, I decided I would start a review – so that way I can remember my experiences with The Original Pocono Pub. [Most recently, got the following] Cocktail: Milky Way (would get again) Appetizer: Charcuterie Pretzel (loaded) --- note it’s ONE LARGE pretzel. Filling! Dinner: Half Rack of Baby Back Ribs, mashed potatoes, vegetable, and salad Dinner was solid overall. I prefer to have gravy on my mashed potatoes but the pepper was okay. Would recommend. I actually saved the salad for the next day because it was a lot of food. Definitely better if you have it fresh. Only complaint this time around was the dressing. They don’t give you enough. That little cup they gave me, only offered this much dressing (pictured). Looking at the cup, I knew I would need more dressing. I asked for more dressing and as a heads up – they do charge you extra for dressing. I just find that ridiculous, because you would expect a decent amount of dressing to be served in the first place. Timeline of Night: 7:40PM – drinks 7:45PM – appetizer 8:15PM - dinner Pros: lots of options Cons: “not sure what you’re going to get” (Ex. one time the burgers were great; one time they sucked).

Let me start by saying this was not first time eating here, I don't go here too often and tonight reminded me why. I ordered the Seafood Newburgh, the only thing I can say positive was that the seafood was cooked perfectly. However the dish was lacking...as an experienced chef, I will say this...the cheese sauce was broken, lacked flavor and was very one note and there was way too much of it to the ration of 3 shrimp & 4 scallops. When you serve a dish like Seafood Newburgh, the richness of the dairy needs acid...a splash of lemon juice would do the job. The menu said there were mushrooms in the dish...but I only found two pieces of what resembled a fungi. The rice had no seasoning and the vegetables were greasy, unseasoned and unappealing. If you're going to serve a mixed vegetable medley that contains squash & zucchini add some garlic to the pan to impart flavor...along with salt & pepper. Both squash & zucchini are flavorless veggies, they need help! Not exactly worth the $26.99 they are charging. If you consider the Seafood Newburgh...do yourself a favor and think again. I never use the word disgusting to describe food as food and cooking are a passion of mine, but I wouldn't have served this to my dog! The service was very good, our server did a great job!

I waffled on this rating. It's been some time since we've been there. Last visit was horrible. It was also over a year ago. We decided to give it another try. It was better but still lacking. There was some renovation work done. Place was looking good. We didn't have a reservation but it was only about a 5 minute wait for a table. We got seated. We figured out what we were going to have. No server. The hostess came by to seat another table and asked if we had seen our server. We replied in the negative. The hostess got someone to take our order. The wife got the NY strip steak in bourbon sauce and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. I got the cavatappi pisano which was cavitappi with shrimp, chicken and bacon in a creme sauce. I got a side salad with ranch and the broccoli cheese soup. We also got an order of garlic parmesean wings. The soups and salad came out quickly as did our beverages. The soup, while quite tasty, was tepid. The salad was good. Greens were crispy and fresh. Our meals came out. The wife's NY strip was good. The cavatappi pisano was exceptional. It came with a huge hunk of garlic bread, nice size shrimp and chicken bits. It was loaded with bacon and sun dried tomatoes as well. The wings however, never made an appearance. In a way, I was relieved. The portion sizes here are huge. We took half of it home. I would love to give OPP a higher rating but I can't. The food was much better than it was during our prior visit. We could not have been happier with the chow. The service there is always lacking somehow. We always seem to have some issue be it an incorrect order, nasty staff or the always popular, being forgotten about. Maybe going during dinner isn't the right move. We'll go back. Probably not soon and certaiy not during dinner. Perhaps the service is better at lunch. It's a shame really because the food...

If I could give zero stars, I would.

My 4 friends and I came to the poconos, from Binghamton NY, for my 32nd birthday. Spent the entire day at Aquatopia waterpark, and wanted to go out to dinner. We were dropped off by an uber (20 minute drive), and walked in. Greeted immediately by a lovely server, and sat outside in their back patio. Myself, my partner, and one of my friends ordered drinks. Only three of us were able to tell the server our drink orders before they walked away. For some reason, they had to take our IDs to the bartender “to be checked”. I had zero problem with that, but getting cut off was very rude. The server never came back, but the bartender did. They proceeded to say we couldn’t be served, because one of the IDs was fake. We asked which one, and they said “you should know” then rolled their eyes. I asked well, which one… because we all are WELL over the age of 21. Somehow MY ID was deemed fake (I am the oldest person as well), and the bartender wasn’t able to definitively say why. It was quite obvious we weren’t wanted there, and they didn’t want to serve us. My partner and I are a lesbian couple, and it was very apparent that was the reason we weren’t wanted there. For some reason the owner thought/was told we had been to three bars prior to theirs… which is impossible. I just wish the bartender/server could’ve politely said they didn’t want to serve us.

We left, and didn’t get anything else. All I wanted was a really good cheeseburger, and a couple drinks. Every. Single. Person at our table works in the restaurant industry… i have been a bartender for 13 years, and have NEVER been treated so horribly.

If you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I do not recommend coming here. It is not a safe...

TLDR: Depressive, bland, questionable quality. Go somewhere else.

We ordered Asian Spring Salad with shrimp (per menu), chili cheese fries, and garlic Parm wings.

Asian Spring Salad was beyond bland. You know when you purchase a tub of spring mix, use it once and it sits in the back of the fridge for a week and a half and some parts of the salad get black a mushy? That was what I got. 7 pieces of shrimp that were so overcooked and tasteless we had a hard time figuring out how they were cooked. They didn't even taste salty, which is hard considering they come from the ocean. No shrimp flavor. Just tough pieces of blandness. Mandarin oranges were again, subpart and low in flavor. Zero freshness in this salad.

Garlic Parm wings: unflavored breaded wings. Season every step people! Or at least something on the dish. Garlic Parm was butter base with minimal garlic. Parmesan was absent. I will say, that the wings were crunchy at least. Point for texture.

Chili cheese fries: huge portion of fries, decent chili. Ours had shredded cheese melted on it, except for one end of the plate that had nacho cheese. Don't know what that was about.

Atmosphere: smelled like it was 100 years old, which hey, it is but that's not appealing at all. Did have a nice patio area, but we chose to sit inside.

Overall: clearly this place is not up to my standards and I definitely won't be back. What floored me is that my dining partner (who often shrugs at bland food and is easily satisfied) was also disappointed. Also, the waitress didn't know her own menu and attempted to charge us $9 for the 7 overcooked bland shrimp that was...
