Appliance Avenue — Local services in Sturgeon Bay

I owned a GE dishwasher for which DC Co-Op was the warranty service provider when I bought it, twenty years ago. It required door hinge replacement within a few years of purchase, but all they did was replace rivets. This needed to be done several times, since they never replaced the hinges, as they should have. They just kept replacing rivets. I subsequently learned the repairs were covered within the ten-year warranty for the door, yet they charged me, $80 to $120, each time. When I informed them of this, shortly after the last repair, they essentially said, “Oh, well” and did nothing. Not only would I not buy an appliance from them, I would not buy any brand elsewhere for which they are the warranty service provider. This is DEFINITELY a review for the Door County Co-Op, NOT a different company, and I DID contact the Appliance Repair Dept. re. this issue, several times, and was told, "Oh, well,...."

I called as requested by the responding manager, twice, left messages, no response. Finally, on my third try, I did get the manager who yelled at me, interrupted and talked over me, promised to “look up the repairs” (which were under ex-husband’s name) and he never did. I called the Co-Op controller, who was very understanding, told me he’d get back to me, and he never did.

Don’t buy from these people or use their rip-off, lazy...

My first purchase was 20 years ago when under the DC Co-Op banner and have never been disappointed. I recently went through the agony of kitchen appliance replacement. Amber went over and above in servicing my needs; she was always patient and acutely aware of my desire to replace what I had which is almost impossible due to product obsolescence. Aware of my frustration she helped me through the myriad of models until we found the best one to suit my needs. Then there is the delivery team...so nice, polite, careful, knowledgeable and did I say NICE? Never have I seen delivery staff work so well together. A perfect example of teamwork. Could I have purchased my appliances at a lower price elsewhere? Probably, but I certainly got what I paid for at...

After growing impatient waiting for my 6-week out appointment, with The Appliance Doctor of Door county, I called Appliance Avenue on 8/9 (a Friday and after 4) the office manager was very friendly and helpful in taking my information. I heard from one of the technicians on Monday, he was honest in offering his colleague, Chris; as the better match for the kind of washer we needed serviced. Chris stayed in constant contact with me and was very accommodating on dates and times. He came today at the time he said and was very professional and knowledgeable. We learned a lot from him about our appliances. We’re very happy with this company all around and would recommended them for the customer...
