Born and raised here. I have been to this DQ hundreds of times. I have ordered 40-50 DQ cakes. My son loves them and asks for them for his birthday every year for the last eight years. I ordered my cake three weeks ago. I always like to give them enough time to make/prep/figure out design. A female employee called me today at 10:30 am to tell me that they do not have a recess cake, but they have a cookies and cream cake. I bit confused because I gave them three weeks to prep for this cake. She then said the manager is looking in the freezer. Apparently he found one in the āback.ā Mind you I was to pick up the cake at 11:30am and she called me at 10:30am. I was relieved that they had one. My husband picked his birthday cake up today at 11:30am, and while waiting he watched the female employee lick her fingers while making an order for a customer that was in the drive thru. The female employee and the male employee(manager) were very dirty looking. The kitchen inside was filthy. Both employees were not the friendliest of individuals. THE CAKE LOOKS SO BAD. It looks like my eight year old decorated it. The writing on it is so bad you can barely read it. The outlining on it is so messy and all over the place. It looks like they took it out and tried to decorate it, but when finished it they never placed it back in the freezer. The decorative design was literally falling off the cake on a quarter of the cake. So, needless to say that due to the employee licking her fingers while making orders, how bad this cake looks(I would be so embarrassed to serve this cake to anyone), and noticing how incredibly dirty the employees and kitchen was I will not be serving the cake to anyone. It went in the garbage. I will not be getting a cake, or anything else here again. Iām upset on the quality of my order and just totally grossed out with the employee licking her fingers. I hope the owner of this DQ visits soon to see whatās going on before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited for a rare family treat out and it turned into a stressful experience highlighted by rude staff. At the speaker we ordered two orders of BOGO Blizzards. For our toddler, we just wanted to do a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some cookies. We were informed by the woman working drive thru that it had to be a Blizzard for the deal, which was fine, but that they couldn't do vanilla ice cream and cookies that way so we ordered something else for the deal. She gave us the total and we drove up to the window. A guy opens the window and sticks his hand out for our payment and tells us a different total, which was nearly double. We thought he had the wrong order so we said it was supposed to be the BOGO deal, as advertised. He gave us such an issue about it and insisted we download the DQ app, which wouldn't load due to not having reception. The girl who took our order never once mentioned an app or we would have prepared. A line was forming behind us and he was visibly getting annoyed. We ended up paying double for the order because he wouldn't honor the total the girl had given us and just to not inconvenience the people behind us, we reluctantly paid. We had to ask twice for a receipt which the guy acted like it was a huge inconvenience. We got our ice cream and left. Turns out our order wasn't even correct but it wasn't worth turning around to ask for it to be fixed. We don't get ice cream from DQ often, and had only been to this location once before, so we were very disappointed in the service to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was a Monday night and our 1st night out on our 3rd time visiting Door County after dinner looking for a dessert place for the kids.
Seems Monday isn't such a good night out here being many eateries are closed or close early. Saw the ever popular DQ sign and asked with a smile "how bout Dairy Queen?" and my wife instantly said no.
Understandably we have DQs all over the country and a few in the county we live in which is the northeastern most county of IL. I know she wanted to try something local or a popular regional chain to begin with but we ended up here after she asked the boys if they wanted it.
Haven't had DQ in at least 4 maybe 5 years and MAN did that strawberry sundae hit the spot. Brought back memories growing up and DQ never fails to satisfy that craving even though technically their soft serve doesn't categorize as ice cream.
My youngest who's 3 1/2 years old absolutely loved his strawberry sundae as well, this was his 1st time having DQ. Not sure if these guys get much tourist business but it was a nice feeling of nostalgia...
