Waterfront Comics — Local services in Suisun City

I’ve had two bad experiences with this place:

I visited in person with my wife recently and when we walked in the guy at the counter barely acknowledged us (didn’t even say hi) which automatically gave off bad vibes. Like dude, a little friendliness would go a long way here lol

I also called recently to ask a few questions about an upcoming release and the guy who answered the phone (likely the same person in the store I encountered previously) was incredibly rude. Made me feel like I was being a bother by just asking questions. I was asking about preordering a comic and wanted to get multiple copies/variants (he said I’m not able to preorder them since the comic is coming out soon) and he followed up with “if you wanted to preorder a shit load of comics you should have called two months ago.” As unbelievable as that response is as, it got even worse. I called him out on his rudeness and he had the nerve to ask me “how is that being rude?” Lmaooo and people wonder why comic book shops are going out of business.

Immediately after the call I spoke with Zeppelin Comics in Benicia and on top of being super nice they filled my preorder request without any issues. If you want to shop somewhere where the employees/owner don’t make you feel like trash, go...

Place Sucks. I took my kids there who had been ANXIOUS to collect comics. When ever my daughter would ask any question in regerds to comics or any Superhero the guy behind the counter (the owner) was not friendly, not engaging, and very short. Needless to say by the end of my daughters purchasing experience. She did not wanna go back there. Said she preferred the comic book store in Concord/Pleasant Hill, which we had previously gone to then Water Front Comics. She liked the store and better. Said the employees were much pleasant and didnt mind answering her questions. Aside from that i came a time before and when i pulled up the door was open. I get out my car and walk over and the door is closed and locked. Its 2:00 on the afternoon. Sign says OPEN. THE hours on sign says on Fridays 11-7pm. Im pissed now cause Mind you i drove here from Vallejo. No closed sign, no note on door saying they went to lunch. Ask me they do bad business, unprofessional business behaviour. To close any time without warning or notification just cause you are the owner is not right wjen someone was coming to patron your store. Only reason store is still open os cause theres no other alternative within reasonable miles or close proximity. Ifbi had 3 hands i give it 3...

Tried to buy 2 new issues of a comic for me and my girlfriend (who was standing right beside me), and the guy tells me that its one per person, and that I could only have 1. He then proceeded to try to goad me into an argument over it despite me saying right away that it was fine and that I'd only take one. At one point I tried to just get him to move on by saying "It's fine, I agree with the policy." He responds "So do I."

LOL just ring me up for the $100+ in other books that I'm buying you clown.

I would have just walked out before buying anything, if not for my girlfriend being exited about a couple of issues she found.

Bottom line: I could have found the exact same items, for cheaper and with less attitude on ebay or whatnot. People like this guy don't...
