I'm not quite sure if I got Debbie the owner on a bad night. I really want to believe she's better than how she treated me tonight in her store. Unfortunately, it was my first impression. I was just in her store during the Christmas tree lighting, and unfortunately my 5 year old daughter waited until the very last minute to have to use the restroom. I kindly asked if we could use her restroom. She explained that her restroom wasn't public and there was one near town hall. I knew my daughter wouldn't be able to make it. I explained that it was kind of an emergency. She aggressively barked at me and told me that if she let me use it than she would have to let everyone else use it. Her tone was that of a very much disturbed person. She was loud enough for the people around us to hear what was going on. The patrons behind her, I believe were embarrassed for her, and quickly turned their heads as if they couldn't believe how she just talked to me. She proceeded to bark at me and told me to "come on," as in she was going to let us use it. We used the restroom but I was in utter shock that she just spoke to a patron, a grown woman, a potential customer, a fellow neighbor of Summerville, a fellow business owner of Summerville like that. I understand there are rules in place for a reason, but I think there are circumstances that you must be pliable. In this case, this was one of them. Again, I want to believe this wasn't a true depiction of this woman's character and how she operates, but I can only go by this first impression and I am afraid it...
Read moreAs I read the reviews that other people have left, I'm wondering, did we go into the same store. The salesperson that, I encountered, was extremely friendly, went above and beyond to make sure that I could find my size. She gave me all the information on the clothes and the people who made them. she was extremely knowledgeable. I purchased two outfits, two pairs of shorts and two shirts. I wore a pair of shorts, for the first time and the hem began to unravel. I took them back to the store and I'm guessing it's the owner of the store, she immediately apologize that this happened, went to see if they had the same short in the same size, but they didn't. So, she called the company, where she ordered it from, to see if they had it and they did not. So, then she offered me a store credit which I declined, because I really needed those shorts to match the shirt I had bought. She then offered to take them to a seamstress and get them hemmed for me, that is what you call CUSTOMER SERVICE! She went above and beyond to make sure that she could help me. She wanted to make sure I was completely...
Read moreI was there for the first and last time on May 2, 2017. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted with "hi, just to let you know we can order sizes from 12-22." As I stood there trying to comprehend what she meant she continued with, "so if you see anything you like, we can order it for you in a larger size!" By then I was leaving feeling very hurt and as I was walking out she said "And do you know our best sellers are the larger sizes?" Then why don't they have them in the store? I am a size 14-16 or extra large, not much bigger than the saleslady. If this is how she treats customers she needs to find another line of work, or perhaps she needs to change the name of her store to the skinny shop. I continued my day shopping in all the other lovely boutiques and antique stores in Summerville. I hope the owner of this store will take the time to...
