I would like to thank all of the ladies at Day in Whyte Alterations. The experience was extremely fun and stress free. I was listened to and the alterations I asked for were done with great care and perfection. I felt like a queen and it was because of my experience with these amazing ladies. With deft hands and a professional sass that I thoroughly enjoyed. These ladies made this stressful time extremely light and fun and with that they had my trust almost immediately. I purchased my dress online and never heard anything but positive words, when so many others were trying to get me to spend more at a bridal boutique. The few alterations I asked for made my internet dress the dress of my dreams. I can't say enough just how great my experience was at Day in Whyte. My appointments were all about me and my dress, there was no competition with other brides. All of the focus was on me and what would make my dress more comfortable for me. There is an initial deposit charge to book your first appointment, your first appointment is used to discuss what you want altered and how much it will be. When your appointment ends you will have paid for your alterations in full, using the deposit as part of the payment. You will not be charged for any other appointments, unless you change the alterations that you want, which should not surprise anyone, as it is in the contract that you sign during your first appointment. I would not recommend this alteration business. They did not listen to what I said I wanted at the first appointment. When I tried to show the seamstress how far the dress needed to come in, she slapped my hand away from the dress. They did not measure my waist for a waist band I had paid for. They quoted me one price at my first appointment (in writing) that I paid, then the second appointment they wanted to charge $290 more because they did not listen to me or measure me at the first appointment so their quote was inaccurate. They were unable to compromise with me and reach an agreement or take any ownership of their mistakes. They first tried to tell me it was my fault the measurements were off by 3 inches, then they changed to saying that was a normal part of the process to pay more at each appointment. I realized they were unwilling to listen and I was not going to get what I came in for without the price going up every time and a lot of frustration, so I took my dress and walked. There are more experienced and fair priced seamstresses in the Dane County area and this place is not one of them. There are lot of things I love about DIW. Their professionalism, skilled seamstresses, friendliness, great vibe, and the cheery on top has to be their “little manager” who call me “princess” which makes me feels happy. As a 2 times bride I can appreciate the fact that they give me full disclosure of what alterations I am being charge for and how much. They discuss everything with me and never pressure me to do any alterations I didn't see necessary. I love the multiple fitting sessions. Unlike my first wedding I only had one fitting and the next visit was a pickup. The bill was given to me all at once and no detail about what and how much I was being charge for.
