Amy recently planned a first time European family vacation for 8, ages from 6 to mid 60s. We went to 3 different countries and needed flights, tickets for tours, transportation, and hotels for each place we stayed at.

We needed hotels that would accommodate a bigger group, and Amy found great places for us. Most rooms were larger than what we were expecting (having heard that European hotels are much smaller than American hotels), and even the ones that were smaller had other benefits that we missed later on. Also, the areas around the hotels always felt safe, were close to public transportation, and had lots of food options within walking distance.

Amy was very accommodating and responsive. We heard back from her that same day that we put in our vacation request. We gave her a list of must do things, and she planned our trip around making those things happen. All of the tours she booked were great, especially the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine Hill tour! That was a group favorite. (We also lucked out and had a really good tour guide!) And she booked us a guided WB Harry Potter Tour, which was very cool and very much appreciated.

She suggested booking rides to and from our hotels, which we never thought about but greatly appreciated when we were super jet lagged/exhausted and in foreign countries where we didn’t speak the language, and had 8 luggages to drag around.

We ran into a couple of bumps that were beyond anyone’s control, and even though it was 2am in the States, Amy responded quickly to our phone call and was very reassuring and helpful when we needed to change plans quickly.

We also ended up changing the itinerary to add an extra day here or there and Amy had great suggestions for day trips or other destinations to look into.

One thing we really wanted was to go to the beach, and the location we chose was Sardinia. Amy found couple of hotel options and shared them with us. She told us that if she was taking her family on vacation to Sardinia, which was the place she would choose for her family. We decided to go there, and it was amazing. I can still hear the ocean waves and when I picture it in my mind it immediately brings back a peaceful feeling!

In the planning stages, Amy was very helpful streamlining our itinerary to be most cost effective as well. She was very professional, always courteous and accommodating, and responded quickly to emails, phone calls, and questions. And even though we planned our vacation months in advance, when something on one of the tours changed a week before we were supposed to leave and the tour company reached out to us, Amy reached out as well to make sure we were aware of the changes.

Writing this after the trip, I’m very grateful for all of Amy’s expertise! I felt so overwhelmed just imagining that I had to plan this trip (which is why I didn’t want to do it!). She helped delivery the vacation of a lifetime for us.

It has been a few decades since I used a travel agent, and honestly I didn't know if they still existed. So thanks to online reviews like Yelp and Google, I was fortunate to find Amy Tan at Planet Hoppers. A few quick words to summarize Amy: organized, responsive, kind, caring, friendly, GREAT listening skills, accurate, knowledgeable and helpful.

My family just returned from the best trip that we have ever taken thanks to Amy. We traveled around France and Italy, and she arranged our lodgings, transfers and tours. I would not have known to do any of these particular tours without her guidance, and the tours were complete game changers in terms of making our vacation extra special and magical. The various tour guides were punctual, polite and informative. Amy selected top notch vendors that were all prompt, professional and reliable with friendly staff.

Working with Amy is delightful and put me at ease as she is dependable and very knowledgeable. First, she got to know my family by asking me questions about our travel goals and style, and she REALLY listened to me and understood what would make our vacation a success. Then she offered me many options for things to do and places to visit. Once I made my selections, Amy took care of all the travel, tours and lodging reservations including our transfers from airport to hotel to train station, etc. Having drivers waiting for us was such a nice perk as it took away any pressure or uncertainty on how to get from point A to point B as we went to new cities or countries.

I am truly grateful for her knowledge and direction. My husband was completely impressed by how seamless the trip was and by how much we were able to accomplish. I give Amy complete credit for making this all happen. She is very organized and provided me with all the travel documents and itineraries in a nice, neat package - that gave me peace of mind. She provided both a two page summary version, and also a longer, detailed version that included important links, phone numbers, and information like extra fees I would have to pay directly to the hotel or taxi service - so there were no surprises. I often referred to both my online itinerary that she set up in an online portal, as well as my binder I put together of all the print-outs I printed for everything (hotels, tours, transfers, etc). There were so many details to consider and keep track of, and Amy had it all covered.

Amy exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend her and her services without hesitation. I wish I could give her 10 stars. I feel so fortunate that I was able to work with her, as the itinerary she put together for my family was beyond anything I could have compiled myself. We just came home from another trip planned by Amy! This one was a two-week trip to Portugal! As always, everything was top-notch. We loved all the hotels she booked for us! All of them were in amazing locations and allowed us to walk to so many places. And each of them had their own unique charm. She also helped us with the actual itinerary and suggested the best order to travel to the places we were interested in seeing, as well as suggesting some places we were unaware of. She also took into account the things we wanted to see and do and planned an itinerary that included the highlights of each city as well as some down days and transportation between each location. In addition, she provides an app that has all our info uploaded to it, including flights, hotels, tours, etc. It is so nice to have everything at our fingertips, including any confirmations and vouchers. We will definitely use Amy again to plan our next trip!

This is the second time we have used Amy to plan a trip. The first time was a trip to Italy with my husband and two other couples and this last time was a trip to Greece with my daughter. Both trips were amazing! The accommodations on both trips were incredible . . . always in a great location where we could walk almost anywhere. It was great to have everything all set up before we arrived with first-rate airport transfers and wonderful tours. We never had to worry about how we were going to get somewhere . . . everything was pre-arranged.
