I don’t know where to begin, so let’s start with check-in. It seems the only concern is swiping your credit card and signing and initialing a bunch of paperwork. I spend four days a week in different hotels for work and have never had to sign or initial so much. It makes sense seeing they are very insistent that they are charging all you nights stays at that moment and will not refund any nights for premature checkout. If you’re unhappy with your room, found bedbugs or otherwise had a valid reason to leave early they will keep your money, in full. The room. I’ve stayed in poor former Soviet Republic developing nations rooms that were in better repair. The room had the over powering odor of old cigarette smoke, mold and something else that smelled like decades of neglect. The cleaning staff had a few rooms door’s open on my floor and she had stepped way to dump trash. I stepped into two of these rooms and it was the same. That right there told me asking for another room wouldn’t remedy the situation. I placed all my belongings on the desk and table and didn’t let a single item touch the floor other than my shoes. I pulled back the sheets to check for bedbugs and behind the nigh stands and headboard, no bugs. That’s a plus. However, three out of four pillows had large black and red marks on them. The sheets were torn and had holes in them and the comforter hadn’t been laundered probably since it was bought. It had a grey haze to the original dark brown color. Wasn’t sure if it was human dander, dust, ceiling plaster particles or everything in between. The ceiling had substantial crack in the middle with delaminating paint and the air conditioning unit had massive exposed insulation around it. The mildew on ALL the joints where any two angles met was caked heavily with black mold and the shower also had wide spread pink mold. Don’t sit down on the toilet, the seat is coming apart and it may cut you! The tub floor had permanent black-something all over it and I really wish I’d brought shower shoes. The shower curtain reeked of mildew and the towels were crusty and smelled of old smoke. In the ceiling of the shower was mold and long strands of human hair. You’re asking why I had not checked out? I would have gladly given up the several hundred dollars they will keep to leave there, but all the hotel alternatives were booked, so I toughed it out. Every morning I woke with congestion, swollen eyes, and my clothes, still in a bag off the floor, taking on the smell of this room. My symptoms would clear an hour or so after I was at work, but when I returned to this third world prison, the symptoms would come right back. This building is so old that no matter how softly you walk in a second-floor room, your windows shake and it makes a distinct noise, but wait, there is more! The lock on the door jammed and I had to use the heal of a shoe to hammer the latch so it would rotate, and I could get out of my room. All these things I just mentioned I could have reported to the front desk, but the reviews (which I should have heeded) were correct. The woman at the front desk is always there, not really concerned with anything other than swiping your card so they can get paid and doesn’t care to remedy anything because they really don’t have to at that point, they have your money. There are other previous reviews of a negative experience and I’m here to tell you they were not exaggerating by any means. I know this is conveniently located and inexpensive, but I would have taken vacation days and not gone to work had I known my few days in this hotel would be so… garbage. I write this as a person who has been to 40 countries and lived abroad. I’ve seen a few hotels, even in war torn countries and this ranks at probably a tie for the bottom spot. DO NOT STAY HERE. Next will be the auto generated response from Vagabond Inn that really means nothing because nothing is corrected, refunded or remedied. See for yourself.

No, I did not "enjoysed" my stay, and considering at checkout the front desk didn't ask how my stay was, I don't think this review will come as surprise either. I booked Vagabond for a business trip seeing mostly decent reviews, I thought I could help save my company a little money without sacrificing much. I was wrong. To start, the room was filthy. It wasn't that housekeeping didn't clean, I believe they did. This is the cakes in filth that only a deep clean or complete demo could resolve. The bathtub had black grime on the floor. The walls were marked and scuffed up. The ceiling had water damage. The filth didn't end at the bigger things though. The pillows were mostly flat. The sheets had burn marks on them. The thin blanket they use for a comforter should have been thrown out a long time ago. The shower curtain was disgusting and torn at the top. The coffee machine had cups which weren't wrapped in plastic, thankfully it wasn't even plugged in (or near an outlet) so I didn't use it anyway. The accommodations were bad too. The TV was tiny (okay I wasn't expecting a big TV but may as well let readers know what they are getting into). The desk was perfect for putting my suitcase on top of, the lack of a proper desk chair ensured I wouldn't work there (and my suspicion of bugs living on the floor ensured my personal items would not touch the floor). The towels were old and crusty. The Kleenex were medical grade and not at all pleasant. The chairs outside by the check-in desk were filthy. Even the information card on the door was riddled with spelling mistakes. I wanted to find a redeeming factor of this stay though. The plastic cups (not for coffee, but for water) we're wrapped in plastic. Outside of that this was the worst and most uncomfortable stay I have ever had. I will not be staying here again, and I strongly encourage others not to either. The motel 6 up the street is probably better if you are on a budget.

I caution you that this place can cause health problems. The moment I went in the room, there was a strong “clean” odor that was so intense it made my head hurt. The towels looked discolored and there were used soap bars in the bathtub. The tub also looked dirty and the bedsheet smelled. There were hairs behind the bathroom doorknob and discoloration on the walls. It is safer to sleep in your car! I booked two nights last minute because I would literally be staying four hours overnight and leave really early but this place was nasty. A homeless shelter might be cleaner. Booked April 26-28 but ended staying elsewhere.

My husband and I have been staying here for three weeks. There have been times, i didn't wanted room service;because I would stay in the room while my husband was at work.I still expected for them to give me clean towels, soap, shampoo and toilet paper regardless. It was between12pm to 12:15pm one day, when I called the office for towels and all that.Housekeeping were still out there.I didn't get it like close to 4pm. The skinny older man that works in housekeeping just came to the room to tell me a bunch of things. He said he was not obligated to give me nothing.I told him i had told the front desk lady since earlier, but they never came by.And I was still waiting.I also spoke to a male front desk guy requesting all that several times. That skinny older man was very upset and insisted he wouldn't give me nothing anyways. He told me that there was no towels.I told him, the front desk never told me that. They told me they would send them.I told him my husband was paying for the room and they needed to provide us with everything. He told me they didn't have to.That, I was wrong. He was talking very mad whispering at me so nobody would hear him. Finally he brought me the towels, but didnt bring me the rest of the things. I told him...Sir, i also need toilet paper, soap, trashbags and shampoo. He was furious. He kept refusing to bring me the stuff; but brought them to me at the end.He just didn't bring trash bags. When I mention that to him, he got furious. He kept telling me they don't have to bring us nothing. That they are not obligated. Finally, he walked to the cart, two doors from my room; in the corner of the building and got them.He just didn't wanted to do nothing.I told him it didnt take you but a few steps to get me those things from there. If they don't feel like working; why do they even come to work?I waited 4hrs.to get all that; especially the towels that I had asked for.If I wasn't going to get that, then the office could of told me that. But they kept on telling me they would come shortly. So that was not my fault. Anyways, I had called since housekeeping hours. He was rude, lazy and thinks that because he've been here for so many years he can do whatever he wants.Plus, he is not my husband or my father to talk to me the way he did.I just think he was ignoring the front desk the whole time. And extending the wait time for me on purpose; only because they told him to do that. The following day I saw Maria one of the housekeepers. She was cleaning my room. She told me me the old man told her that I was disrespectful to him.I told her i wasn't.That i had just requested clean towels that day and ofcourse also the rest of the things.I told her he was the one being rude to me.That if my husband would of heard what he was telling me.He would of put him in his place. She also told me they are not obligated to bring nothing to us because he was was washing and doing other things all by himself. She told me i needed to pick it up at the front desk. She said they don't get paid to do extra things.I told her you guys are not doing extra because you are still on the clock.I told her he was not cleaning my room just bringing what we needed. Plus the front lady was the one who told me they would send it , because i had already request it earlier that day.I told her that if i were her i wouldn't defend him.Because he was actually rude to me.She then told me they both have been here over10yrs.I told her i was then going to report that to someone higher. She said that they still don't have to do what they say. That they wouldn't listen or do nothing about it anyways. She said that lady in the front desk is always causing them problems, making them do things they are not suppose to.I told her well if you guys are still on the clock you have to listen to them. You guys have to communicate to give good customer service to people.Anyway's, after this man put her against me.She started with an attitude towards me and giving me orders. She also refused to give me what i needed. They don't need to gang up on me.Terrible employees, both...

Very disappointed! First room: the first thing I noticed was it was missing coffee so I called the front desk and asked if I could have some coffee he then told me that I would have to get it from the cleaning staff in the morning that was my first disappointment! So I start turning on the lights & realize that the room is very dirty; unswept floor, dirty food inside fridge, mirror smeared with something, very dusty and dirty TV stand and desk, also the headboard had multiple large oily handprints on it in the room smelled like wet dog! So, again, I call the front desk clerk and inform him that I would like another room because the room is really very dirty! (I had already taken pictures of the room) He asked me to take pictures so that he could see what I was seeing. I get my things back in the car drive down to the office- let him take pictures of the pictures that I had taken, and then he gives me another room, I get the key card and I go to the second room! As soon as I open the second room it smells like mouse or rat-I found rat droppings on either side of the TV, the floor was not swept (some kind of crumbs all over the floor) the table, desk, and TV stand were all filthy and had these horrible filthy swipes across them as if someone used a dirty wet rag over them! And let's not mention the fact that it didn't look like that room had been dusted in quite a while! So I call up the front desk clerk again (And I apologize to him because I feel like I'm being a bother). This time I asked him to just come down to the room and take a look because, as I said, I felt like I was being a bother and I just wanted him to see what I was seeing! So the young man comes down to the room takes a look arounnd. He comes over to the room, ( I say to him: what happened to this place, it used to be so very very clean! I always loved coming here especially since it's next to Denny's- which is one of my favorite places to eat) He apologizes, and says he doesn't know, but he's going to talk with the the management about it, then he walks to the door and says "wait here I'm going to go and check out another room for you" and he does! He comes back to me and says to follow him, I do, and he takes me down to the third room which he has already inspected! Now mind you: I have just driven 4 hours to get here, I'm very tired and I need to put my body to rest for a little while before I go and visit my spouse -who just had open heart surgery and is in a hospital! This is one good reason I cannot afford to stay in any unsanitary place or conditions - picking up a disease, or virus and possibly giving it to my spouse could potentially harm or kill her! I was not trying to be a prude I just think if you're going to rent out a room it should be clean! So, with that being said, I accepted the third room! However, this room was not without its own uncleanliness, the mirror in this room was also smeared with some oily substance, and the bedspread has something spilled over it in a couple of different places I couldn't tell you what it is (Whatever it is it's kinda gross), I just rolled it over and pushed it off to the side of the bed because I didn't want to have to pick up the phone and complain again! My spouse and I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple of years and we've always enjoyed staying here it was always exceptionally clean and the staff was always very courteous! However we have always noticed that the cleaning staff have bad attitudes- and that might be a downfall of this hotel-, that these rooms are now so very dirty and those people have been here so long that they don't care and they feel entitled to treat consumers disrespectfully! I don't really know what the problem is cuz I'm not the manager here but I know that something needs to be done and these rooms need to be cleaned otherwise people will read reviews like this one and decide they don't want to stay there. I would like to see these problems addressed so I can come back and visit-without all the...
