Sonora Taqueria — Restaurant in Sunnyvale

Today I stop by to get some food my kids. I thought I had enough cash cover the bill but I was a few dollars short, I ask the cashier that was attending me if it was okay to put the rest on my card she said that it’s fine ,she just didn’t know how so she’s asked for help. Another lady came to help but didn’t seem too happy as she was splitting the payment she started making rude remarks saying “this ridiculous!” “Why can’t they just put it all on their card.” She continued to make more remarks as she walked away, I felt very uncomfortable and as if I did something wrong. Other costumer ware uneasy too. The food is good but they’r costumer service need lots of improvement. I have seen and experienced bad service from this place almost every time I stop by, from bad attitude towards costumer and even bad mouthing customers. Unassuming taco truck in 76 parking lot. Easy to order and gentleman who took my order was patient and very helpful. Nice that they accept card, but paid with cash anyway. They have 3-4 tables set up along the fence which seemed relaxing and plenty of space between. When we went, it seemed like most people who sat there were waiting for take out. Parking was relatively easy, but I could see where it could get a bit awkward if they were more busy. My husband was pleased with the flavor of the homemade tortillas and the tripas. Carne asada tacos seemed a bit dry and quesabirria were a bit disasspointing, but probably just because we've been spoiled with some excellent ones elsewhere. I've been coming here for ages and this truck offers some of my favorite birria in the South Bay area. Unfortunately, today (12/20/23), I ordered quesabirria and a few other tacos. I wasn't given consomé which would typically come with the birria. When I asked about it, the lady told me I had to order 3 quesabirria or pay extra $2 for it, which I think was ridiculous. I asked if this was a new policy but she said it's always been the case, and I know for a fact it's simply not true. Every time I had ordered quesabirria here, I would always get free consomé on the side (I mean, it's the least they can do when you sell $4 tacos but oh well).
