I would like to know who i can talk to about something that happened on Friday at your food bank. I was there for the food pantry having been out of work for the past almost 2 yrs due to medical problems, i am a 61 yr old woman who uses a cane due to recent knee replacement and i was there with my Godson and his wife. We arrived right before 10am, we went in and we're told that we had to wait until 10am , so we went back in to the main store and we're looking around at the prices. Then we went to the food pantry part again and we're told we would have to go outside and come back in again when they let us know they were ready, having been the 2nd people there we went outside and waited, while outside we were talking to some of the folks outside and they were telling us how the people there were very rude to you if you didn't do exactly as they said. And that they didn't want you in front of the store doors, then he pointed out a sign on the door that we had not noticed. Then a guy came out and stood there and stated that they had rules and they needed to be followed and for us to step aside, he basically was going to let everyone inside before us and embarrassed us in front of the whole crowd. We left. What right did this guy have to do that ? We were never told these rules, never given a sheet with that info on it, when we 1st went inside and they told us to wait, they didn't explain to us how it worked and that we had to wait outside and not infront of the store. What right did he have to embarrass us in front of everyone. This tells me he is helping the needy so he can pull his collar up and say look at me, im one bad dude. God didn't give your church the ability to do this so he could do that. Your suppose to help from your heart , that guy has no business there and I will be calling and posting everywhere I can so people can not waist there time going there and go to other food banks where they treat you with respect, where there don't look down at you. I will be doing everything in my power to find out how I can have you non profit taken. People don't need to be treated like, it's bad enough we have to ask for help, and then get treated like that. Just so you know, before my medical problems I worked for the us government so I do know what I'm doing and who to contact. Thank you...

In the photo you can see this is actually the back side of the building not the entrance despite this being what you see when you enter from the Craig road side. To enter the building you need to drive to the other side.
With that out of the way, while this is a small grocery store they do have quite a good selection. They are bringing in more food than what we saw today. I did note that the prices were a bit higher than what I'm used to at some of the bigger stores that are much further away. I think that pricing will even out as they're able to leverage their buying power after being open for a while. Additionally we did ask about EBT/SNAP payments. They are not yet set up for that but they anticipate being ready in about 2 weeks.
The quality of the food is as good as anything you would find in the big stores. It's definitely worth a look. But that's not all...
This store is also a pantry. On the store side you pay for everything like you would anywhere else, but on the pantry side if you show up between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday, you can use your Three Square Pantry Card to get free food that is just as good as what's in the paid section. If you do not have a pantry card they will help you sign up for it and I believe you will be able to take food with you the same day that you sign up with them.
While we were there the staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. We had questions about how everything works and the owner came out and spent time with us explaining what was going on and how everything worked and even helped us with our selections. I highly recommend anyone in the Paradise area near Nellis Air Force Base come in and check...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there today and was not treated very nicely and I look at the front billboard. It says Christian community but I didnāt get that energy today from that place. Very sad because I was so hungry. I saw a lady come out with food after but of course I left without any food. I was so hungry. And again hostile energy I was treated with makes me scared to post this and ever come back there again what a shame. iām noticing the owners being very defensive about the way the people living reviews but devices of people is the voice of God. Iāve been there for the first time ever today and I immediately felt offended and almost scared. Why do I want to come to places as a Christian please we are very broken hungry most of us coming to look for free food and then they give us the weird stairs they coming outside they looking at you funny I aināt coming to rob the place Iām coming to get some vegetables, Jesus be nice before God shut it all down. And tell the guy who gave me the address for the one on Craig he gave me the wrong address. I drove around for like two hours looking for that other one and I said I finally email you guys to make the complain and see what I got from the email.
