Absolutely NOT!! I've donated since I moved here 4 years ago. Never again! I stopped in yesterday with NINE large boxes, nicely sorted and clearly marked on the outside, Women's Clothing, Craft supplies, etc. While transfering them into the bins outside, a very rude volunteer (man) came out and started yelling at me about they only take donations on Saturdays. I only had a couple of boxes left, so I figured I'll finish now instead of coming back on Saturday to finish. This was Tuesday. I mean after all, I'm GIVING them things to sell for their church. He continues to yell at me, then asks if I know what the definition of a selfish person is? I thought it was a strange question in this situation, so I ignored him. He told me that it was a person that refused to follow the rules, so I was a selfish, selfish person. I asked him, so giving your church items that you will be able to sell, makes me selfish? I was, and still am, confused how my GIVING them good quality clothing and such, makes ME a selfish person. And apparently there are five other selfish people out there because he told me that five other people had donated that day so they were selfish too. Then I come to find out, they overprice these items (I've never shopped there) and their volunteers STEAL the items donated. They are eligible for volunteer discounts, but I guess it's not good enought since they just steal them. I will never donate there again! I have donated not only clothing, and household items, but furniture for both inside and outside the home. I always thought it was better to donate it then the sell my items on FB Marketplace. I still do, I just need to find a...
Read moreI used to shop here and also donate here all the time when I lived in the Swansboro area. But now I don’t live so close and only stop by when I have to go that way. Over the past couple years, I have noticed the prices being jacked up and you used to be able to negotiate, but not anymore. I have stopped donating there, and I will probably not ever shop there again. This past time I went they had a chair that was sitting outside That had not been priced, I had asked a lady that worked there for the price, and she came back and told me that it was $30 for one chair. Ridiculous. And what I don’t understand is why they are trying to sell old worn out furniture For full prices. The volunteers that work there are very rude. Especially the ones upfront at the cash register. Now I know that they have a lot of people donating really nice stuff, what happens to it? Because every time I go in there there’s not much of a selection, and everything looks like it should just be thrown away. And Whoever is marking the prices on these things needs to have a reality check. I’m better off buying brand new stuff for their prices. I’ll just stick to the marketplace. That’s usually where I get my...
Read moreA friend referred me to this place. Called to get just general information about what they do or sell there. The woman who answered, when asked what they do or sell there, replied they sold clothing, furniture, housewares etc. Then asked, is that at a discount or ?...She then replied yes at a discount then abruptly hung up on me before I could asked anymore questions. Like I was interrupting her day by asking silly questions. I am not from here and over fifty miles from this place. Before I venture to go somewhere I don't know, need some info that tells me it it will be worth the trip. Woman was very was very rude and disrespectful. At Christmas time? Wow. Don't bother. Fake staff. Totally disappointed. P.S. Adjustment to this review. 1 star!!!. Although I am a Christian and have read entire Bible I was not familiar with this term. Apparently, the question would be asked, How do you get closer to Jesus? Grab on to the "Hem of his Garment." Found out later that this is a Church sponsored store, much like the Salvation Army stores. Now I am even more disappointed. SHAME ON...
