Candy Edventure — Local services in Swansboro

Usually go here specifically for their fruit slices, always have to pick up a pound or more because everyone wants a slice. Well today me and my sis went in separately and both got the most dramatic "that much?" When ordering a pound of fruit slices. She was shorted to .7 lbs which somehow was like half as many as I got in mine at .9lbs. Well I was outside with my sisters 3 kids when she got hers, who were super disappointed when she came out with barely 7 slices for all of them and the family back home. Needless to say super disappointed in the customer service, maybe just get people what they ask for instead of needing backstory. We didn't tell each other til after we both had purchased. I had every intention to enjoy this establishment. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, the ice cream is generic and had freezer burn with a distinct taste of ice and water. Absolutely no flavor. The assorted bulk candy is old and tasted like dirty rocks. The containers should be emptied and sanitized then filled with quality candy. After tasting some ice cream flavors and different candies, I decided their fresh fruit candy and fudge might taste worse and opted not to purchase any.

I can’t believe I’ve lived here for the better part of 17 years and haven’t ever been to this adorable, hidden away, old fashioned candy shop!

My mom and step son were both staying with us for the week of July 4th, and we wanted some family time. My partner and our son decided a candy shop was the place to be, and so we went. I was expecting to walk in, grab some jelly beans and sour belts and walk out. Instead, it was an entire experience!

They have a whole section for dogs, cool themed drinks, cotton candy, displays, massive towers that dispense every candy you can imagine, a section of large stuffed animal candy and, to my surprise, a whole display of freshly made (in house!) chocolates. We spent over $100 and left very happy, and right outside, my mom enjoyed feeding all of the ducks (or a breed of geese???) and it was ADORABLE.
