Great Lakes Vacuum, 5577 Monroe Street, Sylvania Ohio, has a store policy that denies customers cash refunds for purchases. The refund policy is only stated on the customers' receipts, denying them knowledge of the policy prior to the completion of sales. The policy should be posted in a highly visible area for customers to read, prior to the completion of sales. The manager told me employees could not bring a power cord to me that was missing from my purchase because it was too inconvenient -- not that I asked for store employees to bring it to me. He also said the item could be shipped to me at my expense. He acknowled part of my purchased item was not included in the bag and was the fault of an employee. However, I, the customer, was the only one to be inconvenienced. I also did not receive any written information, relating to the warranty for the product that I purchased. I decided being a customer was inconvenient and said I wanted to return the item. I was then told by the manager only an in-store credit would be provided. He also acknowledged the store policy was not posted anywhere in the store for customers to see prior to making purchases. The entire transaction and conversation happened within 15 minutes of my purchase of the item. Jacob explained to me the pros and cons of the vacuum I had picked out with total transparency and honesty. He had me do a test run on the Miele to make sure I liked the vacuum. After some more talking and finding out my needs / house arrangement he recommended and entirely different brand and model. I tested out the sebo that Jacob recommended and I was surprised by how much I loved it! Iām not the type to make a decision on the spot. He was completely accommodating and gave us time for my fiancĆ© to come in and take a look at the vacuum. We ended up coming back and grabbing the Sebo he recommended!!
Professional, friendly, courteous do not even begin to describe the experience I had dealing with Jacob and with the entire experience of buying a vacuum from Great Lakes Vacuum. I walked out with a vacuum, warranty, and replacement bags and I was happy as a clam.

He told me yes it's Fixable, and it would be ready later today. Meanwhile, I originally dropped the same vacuum off on last Weds, at a Place in Maumee. The Employee Kevin, calls me 3 days later, and said, Sorry we can't do anything for you. ??????? It was a Fricking cord that needed to be fixed?????????? I went and picked up the vacuum on Sat, he then tells me he can sell me something else in place of my Non fixable sweeper. Soooooooooooo, I give 5 stars to Great Lakes for the Best service ever. I'd like to know why they couldn't help me in Maumee , and Great Lakes Vacuum Center had it done in 2 hours. !!!!!!!! When I picked it up today, The other employee Ian, was as Nice as ever. He cashed me out and even carried to my car. This is Awesome...
