Today I went to Clothes Mentor Sylvania. Valentines day is approaching and I wanted to get my girlfriend a Michael Kors handbag large enough to fit her tablet in. I knew this was a resell shop and I thought it would have a similar vibe to a thrift store. I was wrong. I entered and was immediately greeted by at least 3 different people. The store felt like more of a boutique if that makes sense? I had no idea what I was doing and really do not know much about purses. A worker named Meagan approached me and asked if I needed help. I explained to her what I was thinking of getting my girlfriend. Meagan immediately took me over to where all the purses are. She started asking me what sort of colors and style my girlfriend has. While we were talking she started opening cases. She pulled out probably a dozen purses and even demonstrated what could hold an iPad easily. We ended up selected a large bag with separate compartments inside of it with neutral colors. This whole experience was a bit scary but Meagan took control of the situation and made me comfortable. I got an awesome gift for my girlfriend and had a great time with the whole staff! Everyone chipped in with advice and even gave suggestions about how to wrap the present. I dropped i dropped off 2 totes of items and they give me an estimated time of 2 1/2 hours. I go back 3 hours later and they still aren’t done and try to tell me that there is still 3 people ahead of me? I told them I’m from out of town and can’t keep waiting they say we will do yours next. Fine. So i wait. I go back in after they text me and say it’s done. It in fact isn’t done. They had went through one tote only and not the other. While walking around the store waiting for them to finish the other tote i notice horrendous clothing that is so outdated. Like i could go to goodwill and get the same thing for $3! And purses peeling and yet they still have $25 on them. After they finish they tell me that aren’t buying anything. I had a new Michael Kors coat in there. They say my stuff is dated? Yet have they looked around their own store? I will never take my items there again. I will be either selling on Facebook or Poshmark. Again this place is a joke. I came in with 2 baskets FULL of barely used (some brand new) fall sweaters/tops, jeans, workout clothes, brand new OSU top, a Northface coat, brand new fall boots, two MK purses and a coach wristlet. They barely took anything! They attempted to buy my 2 MK purses and when I asked her how much they were offering me for each of them, she said she planned on putting my medium satchel out for $99 and was going to offer me $20 and $30 for my other larger size MK purse!! I was in complete shock. She then tried telling me some of my items had piling on them! What a total LIE. All of my clothes were almost brand new. Some even had tags on them! What a total joke and waste of time and money just to drive there and back!! I will NEVER bring my items in to sell nor will I ever shop there again! Not to mention every time I have shopped there, ALL of there clothes are super outdated! Save yourself the time and list them for sale on FB marketplace or Poshmark or just donate them!...
