Marino's Beverage Depot — Local services in Sylvania

This is a new post. I've recently been informed that my previous post portrayed a negative opinion of Marino's and that was not my intention. I shop at Marino's frequently. Whether it's for work- picking up the liquor order, or to grab up all the different ingredients needed for the holiday themed cocktail I found on Pinterest. Marino's selection never disappoints. Thankfully for me, I'm literally a 2.miles radius between where I live, where I work and Marino's. So it's more than just the liquor store for me. My more than convenient store around the corner. Never a long line. And the workers seem to ALWAYS be able to answer any questions I have in regards to what's in their store. And it's a big store. So that's pretty impressive. Now if only they could one day decide to stay open late for us night owls stuck working until after bar close. Lol! Also...I'd like to apologize to anyone I may have pissed off in my previous post. I'm new to google review contributions and I was just responding to the generated prompts without proofreading my post or being clear and direct about my experience at each establishment and their pros and cons. Hopefully I was able to give a better picture of Marino's and what to expect when you stop...

Update 6-28-21 Still the same issue with aging ipas. Some where up to 6 months old. I feel other stores in the area have a better selection of newer styles, such as fruited sours. I didn't find many here. Other stores are getting better distro as well. The service here is good overall but that can't sell the vintage ipas.

This store used to be good. Shelves were messy (beer section and beer cooler). A ton of beer in boxes that had not been worked blocked a lot of beers on the floor. I discovered a lot of old ipas. Some from August of last year. This is disappointing. If I would have not checked dates then I would have felt cheated that I bought old beer. I did buy an ipa that had no date on it and thought it was fresh. It wasn't. A waste. Move older ipas, older than 2 months to a discount rack. Ipas do not age. Maybe I stopped on an off day. I was disappointed in the special trip I made...

The store typically has a great selection of drinks, but it often feels crowded. On July 16, 2024, the customer service was particularly disappointing. The employee on duty did not greet me, as he was engrossed in a video chat with his AirPods in, discussing shift arrangements and living situations with someone. He failed to tell me my total or turn the screen around for me to see it. Instead of letting me swipe my own card, he did it himself and then placed my card on the counter rather than handing it back to me, which is a basic courtesy. The lack of interaction and attention from the employee was unacceptable. Despite its convenient location near my job, I will not be returning, as this has happened...
