El Salto — Restaurant in Sylvania

So I had the pleasure of eating here the other day. I'm always a fan of trying places that I haven't tried before. My son and I were driving down the street when this place caught my eye. We decided to stop here, and give it a try. We were met with friendly faces, and seated promptly. Our waitress Macy was very friendly and attentive. The service was fast, and the food took little to no time to come out.The food was delicious! I had an order of fish tacos, and beef tacos, and both were well seasoned and very tasty. I did not utilize the sauce that came with the fish tacos, because it was too spicy for my taste. My son had beef and chicken nachos and loved them. I tasted his nachos and they were seasoned very well also. As a beverage I had an awesome margarita. Overall, I was impressed with this place, and I plan on being a regular here...

This is our 3rd or 4th time going here and not only is the food over priced for the quality, but specifically tonight 4 women were working and tried to charge me for an extra salsa. I used to live in Cali and have eaten Mexican food all across this country and never does anyone charge extra for a salsa cup. Especially when an individual paid 15$ for 1 burrito. I’ve gotten extra salsa at their restaurant every other time I went, for free. Totally rude and unprofessional. **edit I got home to check my $15 burrito and the rice and beans are not in the sloppy burrito with barely anything in it and they literally charged me $15. I asked as I was buying, are the beans and rice IN the burrito and of course one of the women confirmed that it was, which was a lie. Wow $15 for a skimpy burrito and beans and rice on the side....

I regret that I only discovered El Salto three whole years after moving to Toledo. That's three whole years of missing out on the incredible street tacos with the fiery in-house hot sauce that makes you wonder why you ever bothered eating tacos anywhere else. All things considered; the prices are affordable, the food is intensely flavorful, the drinks are delicious and pack a punch, the service is excellent and thoughtful without being obnoxious. It's an extraordinary experience that made me go back to El Salto 5 times in 10 days after I first went there. And I still usually eat there once a week.

If you like spicy and flavorful food, I definitely recommend this place, especially the chorizo and al-pastor street tacos as well...
