First of all, our server barley checked in on us, and didn't collect our dirty plates like a regular restaurant would. I'm so disappointed especially because I heard they had great Vietnamese food... There was an EXCESSIVE amount of mint in the spring rolls. I ordered dumplings and to my surprise the dumplings were not DUMPLINGS. With someone who is unfamiliar with vietnamese food, the server did not mention they were not regular dumplings. they came out in a banana peel wrapped i don't even know. The inside was literally gelatin wrapped pork. How freaking nasty. I'm so sorry nothing on the Vietnamese but that was just disappointing and unappetizing. I barley touched the food. I couldn't even get myself to try it that's how gross it looked. If the menu or the waitress would have had a picture that would have been helpful. ON TOP OF THAT, THE WAITRESS WHEN BEING CASHED OUT SAID WE STILL HAD TO PAY FOR SOMETHING WE DIDNT EVEN EAT. SHE SAID AND I QUOTE "we are a small business, and "we remember faces". (Is that a threat?) it's like someone who places a takeout and doesn't pick it up, that's like so disrespectful" on top of that the lady was so passive aggressive she had negative aura. First off what does a takeout order have anything to do with the fact that I didn't even eat it because it looked so nasty. I left with an empty stomach literally only ate bean sprouts that's so sad. And before you say I should have read the menu I definitely did or else I would not have ordered that item. We were taken back by what she said. The pho is good. Also make your menu font bigger and add some photos because when your unfamiliar with a food you should be able to see what the item you're getting looks like. also hire better people, it's a little awkward when the waitress keeps passing the floor side eyeing you. Prices are way to much.
As a person with texture issues, that's wrong not being able to take it off the bill and having to pay for an item you didn't even eat.
The menu says "Hue City dumpling | pork, shrimp, and tapioca, steamed and served with chili garlic fish sauce" no where does it mention being wrapped in a banana paper peel thing. Is that even edible?
I'm not overreacting but this was just horrible, food and...

It's not the biggest restaurant you'll ever walk into but let me tell you it is delicious and homey feeling. You walk into a cozy dining area that makes you feel like you're in a real cafe setting leaving the expectation of a very flavorful authentic meal. And that's just what you'll get!
I got a chance to speak with the owner Tuan and he takes great pride in his heritage and roots from back home in Vietnam. He explained to me how many restaurants in America compromise the real authentic ingrediants for ingrediants found in more abundance and cheaper sourcing in America. This let me know that he was about his food and it was going to be legit. He explained different parts of the country and how they have different ingrediants and what was important for him and the business he wanted consumers to enjoy, which was real authentic street food from his hometown in Vietnam.
I ordered 3 items; bánh xèo, grilled pork bánh mi, and 5 spice chicken wings.
The bánh xèo was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy on the outside, great flavors to the filler pork and squid inside and the herbs were fresh and amazing.
The bánh mi "vietnamese sandwich" was delicious. You could tell the bread was fresh and the meat was well marinated. Giving great balance and nothing but finger licking good.
The 5 spice wings were uh-maze-ing! I told him I felt like I could sit all night and drink beer and eat wings until I knocked out from food coma.
Overall I was I'm pleasantly surprised with the food and HIGHLY recommend that you try it. I know that I will be going back periodically until I can conquer the whole...
