To start out, this review is about the Pierce County sheriff and the one single Nordstrom employee who stood there laughing about the situation with him after it happened. Normally, under any other circumstance, this would be a five star review. We have always had a great experience here other than this one situation.
My husband is physically disabled, and we were approaching the exit as the sheriff was about to close the gate. We made eye contact as I kindly asked him to please let us out before closing the gate because my husband is disabled instead of making us walk even farther around the building and outside in the rain back to our vehicle. He immediately told us to use the other door, even though we were less than 10 feet from him. That’s when my husband spoke up and said, “What about for physically disabled people who are already obviously having a hard time walking?” The sheriff then turned his back to us, hit the button to close the gate and completely ignored us. Employees witnessed this and didn’t say a single word to stop this from happening. After the gate closed, I sarcastically said, “Thank you so much for helping a disabled person, sheriff” to him. He turned around immediately and said, “You’re so welcome!” in an equally, if not more, sarcastic tone. All that statement did was prove that he knew exactly what he was doing.
Immediately after this, he stood there with a smug look talking to an employee of Nordstrom and laughing about the situation.
I find this whole situation absolutely disgraceful, especially considering it’s coming from a sheriff, who is supposed to protect the people.
I have half a mind to contact a lawyer about an ADA violation. This is completely unacceptable behavior, and I cannot fathom ever doing this to another human being, let alone an obviously disabled person who is within arms reach of me.
It’s very humorous that he had plenty of time to laugh with the employee about the situation after the fact, but didn’t have the five seconds it would’ve taken to let us out the gate without any issues or problems.
Thank you to the Nordstrom employees who actually helped us while we...
Read moreI liked the layout of the store and products but had a bad customer service experience first time coming in. Two days ago went in with my boyfriend and picked out some new shoes. When purchasing I downloaded the app to get 5$ off but realized when looking at the receipt after walking out, that the guy who rang us up added 5$ to our total instead of discounting 5$. So we walk right back in and this girl working the return counter immediately puts 5$ back onto his card. In my head I already know she messed up the process by doing this because she should have returned the total and then re rang everything correctly so we would get back the tax we were charged as well. It takes a good 15 minutes standing at this counter for her to get a managers help over the ear piece and she then refunds us another 5$. The shoes were 58$ and then brought up to 63$ So we were charged tax on 63$ not 53$ like we should have been after the discount. With her just giving us 10$ back it never repayed us the tax we over payed and when I tried explaining this to her she basically gave me the I’m new excuse and said her manager said to do it this way. Because we already waited about 20 minutes now, we felt it wasn’t worth it to wait for a manager and have it all figured out but this left me feeling like they hired inadequate staff with poor critical thinking skills and even worse management that would not even come up to the counter to help her work through the issue. The first weeks of opening you should really be on top of any issues but this was clearly not the case here as everyone’s focus (including the guy who added 5$ instead of discounting 5$) was on getting the line down quickly and not being efficient...
Read moreLet me just start by saying that I have shopped at Nordstrom for going on 20 years now and this last weekend I was reminded why I keep giving your company my business. Let’s be real now days you can buy just about everything that Nordstrom sells online and sometimes for less, but the reason I get into my car and walk into a brick and mortar is because of employees like Jay at the Tacoma location. I went in because I needed shoes for work and I was greeted by Jay, he start asking me questions like; where do you work, how long are you on your feet per day, what colors do you normally wear? Then proceeded to not only bring me the pair of shoes that I asked to try on, but two other pairs that he thought that I might like. I started taking off my shoes to try on the new ones and he suddenly stopped me and said “sir this is Nordstrom, I will do that for you”. I smiled and let him do his job, then I grabbed the new shoe and again Jay stopped me and said “ sir again this is Nordstrom, please let me do that for you. This went on for 10 or 15 minutes of me trying on shoes and I ended up purchasing 2 pairs of shoes simply because of the options he gave me and the customer service he provided. Once I was at the register ready to pay, I opened my wallet and was wondering which CC to use for my purchase. Jay looked at me and said “sir surly you would want to use your AMX because of its rewards on this purchase……I smiled and said good call Jay!! I will always purchase at Nordstroms because of employees like Jay in the shoe...
