Not the best experience with this place. I will say, they did not charge me because they could not repair my laptop and that was greatly appreciated, but the costumer service was servery lacking. I was told my computer would be ready on Friday, I asked if I could come pick it up the following Monday and they said that would be fine. I never heard from them, but I still went in on Monday and my computer was not ready. The woman working there said Kyle was in the middle of working on it and that it should be done by the end of the day and that she would call me when it was ready. I never heard from them for the rest of the day or the following day. I called on Wednesday morning and I was told the exact same thing, that Kyle was in the middle of working on it, it should be done by the end of the day and that she would call me back. About four hours later, I still had not heard from them, so I called again. They must have picked up on accident because I sat on the line for a minute listening to them laughing and talking to other people. I hung up and called back a few minute later and this time they were paying attention. She said my laptop wasn't ready yet, but this time she said they needed to buy a new charger and that Kyle had been sick and that she would call me back before the end of the day after she had gotten the chance to talk to Kyle. She never called me back. On Thursday, I called again and this time I was able to get in contact with Kyle, who explained the issue with my computer and said that he'd been out sick the last few days. He said he'd call me with updates as soon as he had them and he never did. I had to call them to get the final updates. In total, they had my laptop for 26 days and they were not able to fix the problem. The Christmas holiday was during this time, so I know they were closed for more days than normal and it was probably a busier time for them. I wouldn't have minded waiting. I would have understood if she told me Kyle was sick and that's why they didn't have updates. I just don't understand why the receptionist lied about it being worked on when he was sick and why she was incapable of...
Read moreBrought a new motherboard, CPU, and GPU to be installed as an upgrade to my existing computer. Kyle was very nice, but there were several issues with the service.
My computer's operating system was running on a top-of-the-line Samsung EVO SSD, and Panhandle "lost" it and replaced it with a cheaper WD-brand SSD.
They also "lost" the WiFi/Bluetooth antenna that came with the motherboard. They installed another one, but with the alternative the bluetooth doesn't work, so I had to buy a bluetooth dongle and it now takes up one of the USB ports.
Panhandle also "lost" the RGB strips that I had in my computer case, so I had to buy more.
Additionally, my computer had 4 memory sticks, and during the upgrade process they somehow stopped working. Panhandle didn't know whether it was the motherboard or CPU that was bad and advised I order replacements for both. And because Panhandle "lost" the box that the new motherboard came in, I had to haggle with the seller because they didn't have proof my motherboard matched up with the one they sold me.
When checking out, and being utterly shocked with how many of my original components Panhandle "lost", I had to proactively ask for my old computer parts back. I ended up selling both my old GPU and motherboard on eBay for over $100 each, so had I not asked for my old parts back, Panhandle would have just pocketed those parts and sold them to someone else.
From a technical perspective, see the following photos. They didn't install the spacer, and the SSD was bent. There was supposed to be nine screws to secure the motherboard, and there were none when I got it back (how do you lose NINE screws?) And the tape on the motherboard designed to secure it was never even taken off.
I can only guess that Panhandle PC either 1) used an overseas click farm to generate a ton of misleading positive reviews, or 2) Kyle or whomever was working on my computer has since been fired for poor performance...
Read moreI took two (2) laptops in for repair (at different times) to Panhandle PC. Actually, came across this company while riding in the area and decided to stop. The first laptop was dropped on the floor because the cord and chair became tangled. The chair won and laptop slid off the counter on to the wood floor. Yes, it had a huge dent on the hard drive. I knew it was a long shot, however, I needed a computer professional to look at it. The second laptop motherboard was bad. I’ve had both laptops for years and really just used them for back up. I was very impress because I found Panhandle PC consistent with their services. Kyle was able to diagnose quickly the computer issues.
I finally found a person with the expertise I needed for consultation and is able to perform diagnosis and repair. I had a feeling that this company would provide excellent service when I walked through the door. The atmosphere was very friendly.
I still needed a backup laptop and purchased a refurbished HP laptop. I am 100% satisfied with my ‘new-refurbished’ laptop. By the way, it was at a great price! Kyle is now my IT professional when I need computer evaluations, small or large. I highly recommend...
