This is my third time eating here, and it was wonderful!
I must say that both Grace and Beverly did an exceptional job with the service. Friendly attitude and attentiveness, those were their hallmarks. My food came out piping hot, and exactly the way I ordered it.
Now that I've covered that, onto the food. The first item was the blackened catfish platter. I didn't eat it, though the person who did was more than happy with it. Extra kudos for the garlic green beans, which were as good as the last time I ordered it. I stole two of the hushpuppies off the platter, and they were yummy.
Next is the crispy catfish taco. Again, I didn't eat it. But it did get eaten, rather quickly. As did the red beans and rice that were ordered with it. The person who ordered it is rather reserved, but the praise they have was the equivalent of you or I jumping up and down whilst screaming and pulling our hair out. High praise indeed.
Finally we have the Greek salad. Note that I capitalized the "G" in greek, not because it's grammatically correct (which it is) but because it has a capital sort of flavor. I loved the pungent saltiness of the feta dressing, which worked well with the blackened chicken. The potato salad secreted underneath was a wonderful surprise that I've only ever experienced at one other obscure Greek restaurant.
So, in summary: Good food, great service,...

Read moreI just picked up dinner from one of my favorite go-to spots. It was an excellent experience from beginning to end. When I called to place the order, I encountered a very upbeat, polite, efficient, and accommodating hostess who made sure every detail was noted on our order. When I arrived at the resturant, a young man was standing at the door. As I rushed in from the rain, he opened the door and welcomed me to the Wharf. That was a special and unexpected touch. At the counter, I was further greeted by Beverly, one of my favorite hostesses in all of Tallahassee, and her counterpart, the nice hostess who had taken my order. Our order was perfectly fulfilled. No detail was overlooked. And the food was prepared to our specification, and delicious. The fried and grilled grouper were cooked to perfection. I loved the smashed potatoes as well - a great twist on a staple. The hushpuppies as coleslaw never disappoint. As I left the resturant, the young man rushed towards the door, opened it for me and wished me a great evening. Thanks to him and his co-workers, my evening is already off to a great start. I ate my food so fast, I forgot to take a picture to post. But that's alright, because my experiences with the Wharf, tells me that I'll have many other future opportunities to share a...
