We have painted pottery at other places we've never been here. We walked in and no one greeted us, explained the rules or anything. We picked out our pieces and went to the counter to pay as thats how other places work. The girl came up and then advised us how it works. She walked away to look if they had a table. There was a table reserved for 5:10 when it was 3pm when we arrived. We were allowed to sit so long as we leave by 5.
We walked over to pick out our paints and had no clue what we were doing. I had to ask a girl to explain it after waiting a while for a large family to be helped. We finally sat down at 3:20. I asked a girl for water for the brushes once I needed a refill. No one brought it. My husband needed a refill and had to ask another lady for water. She came over and reminded us the table was reserved. It was 3:30 by this point. Like yes we get it. We know and we're going to leave before then.
Overall this entire experience pissed me off. Every single person had an attitude. No one was friendly or helpful. The 10 dollar fee for each person is a bit ridiculous if I have to ask for everything. Then to have the audacity to ask for a tip at check out when no one did anything to deserve it.
We didn't bother ordering any drinks because I didn't want to deal with more attitude from these employees.
If we need a reservation just to paint then you should make it a requirement. Most tables had a sign that it was reserved. It felt that we were mistreated because we didn't have a reservation. I don't plan on painting here again. I'll go to the place an hour from my house in Bradenton/Sarasota than come here again.
Edit to add: Received a call today to pick up our pieces. My husband went in and no one even acknowledged him for a few minutes. A girl at the coffee bar asked him for what he needed. She directed him to the back shelf where the pieces are just sitting out for anyone to grab. None of them are wrapped, anyone can take them or easily break them.
This place is ridiculous!!!! If you can't even bubble wrap them then WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR STUDIO FEE FOR!!!!!!!!! $20 ADDITIONAL BUCKS FOR WHAT...
Read moreWe've been 5 or 6 times so far. Have gotten to know the owner and staff. I can say without reservation that this is a great place if you want to have some fun and let your creative side go wild! The selection of bisque objects to paint is excellent. My husband and I have been working on a set set of tableware for our house. We've also painted some gnomes and other figures. The coffee and tea bar is a really nice addition to the space. We've had a number of different coffee and tea drinks and all were delicious. Cindy and her staff are the best! They are super friendly and helpful. Also I would like to address some of the negative reviews. First, this place gets busy! There are lots of parties (birthday, team building, etc. Plan ahead and make a reservation. Although walkins are welcome, if you risk going without a reservation, don't be upset with the business, if there isn't space for you when you arrive. As far as the staff goes, they work their butts off Every time I've gone, the place has been packed. Kids all over the place, sometimes running around the studio (why are adults who brng the children not supervising them) and the staff somehow manages to keep smiling amid all the chaos. Pro tip, meet the staff, learn their names, be friendly and kind to them and you will receive that in return in abundance. The vibe, the staff, the selection, and the space make this place...
Read moreIt was me & my boyfriend’s first time here & we had a wonderful experience! I would suggest booking a reservation just to ensure you have a table to sit at! We were luck we walked in and saw another couple leave & took their table. All the staff were very friendly, helpful & thoughtful! They seemed around college level age, same as me & my boyfriend so it was super easy to talk to them & it made us feel comfortable. It’s a very simple casual vibe. There’s lots of pottery options to choose from (even bongs & pipes.) They had figurines, mugs, bowls, plates, candle holders, ring holders, dragon figurines & so much more. *Make sure to look around the whole place & through all the shelves on the walls! They had a good selection of paint colors with unlimited refills & unlimited amount of colors to choose. They had stencils, stamps, sand paper, rulers & just about every material you can think of! They had 3-4 booths with blow driers. They have a lot of sale items that are very cheap near the door & near the booth. They also have a big menu of coffee, smoothies, lattes, matcha, juices, Frappuccinos, ice cream, floats, etc. they had a few baked goods. We tried the Frappuccino and it tasted great! A little too sugary but it was good! We spent 3-4 hours here because of how nice the service was & how much we where...
