Hadnāt been in years to Thai Rubyās. My husband never had Thai food. We walked in with no one other than the staff. Order placed with the āguy/girlā for my pad Thai with shrimp well done. My husband ordered panaag chicken. When I placed my order I asked her to ensure my shrimp is well done. They said ok. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and since no one was as in the restaurant except us again I asked her to ensure the shrimp was well done. (Texture thing for me)
The food came out I shared a shrimp and noodles with my husband before I ate. He said youāre not going to like it as itās not well done. He was right.
I called the female waitress over she came over with a not nice attitude. Didnāt apologize or nothing. Asked if I wanted her to recook the shrimp Iād picked out of the pad Thai.
āTheyā returned with the shrimp looking exactly the same. My husband started to explain to her, I told her no worries very nicely and handed the entire meal back. I explained Iād not pay for it. Still no apology not offering of another item etc. āTheyā did march off and said loudly sheās not paying for it! My husband continue to eat his meal and it was very tasty! He enjoyed it and while I was really disappointed as this has always been an idea option in the past!
Not sure why we were š¤¦š¾āāļø treated so coldly the entire time as they both were constantly on their cell phone. We were the only two people in there starting out. (A couple came in) I had to raise my hand and wave to let āthenā know we were ready to order and to call her over about the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreĀ Ā Ā Read moreMy friends forced me to go, I didn't want anything to do with that exotic spicy stuff people talk about... now its my favorite restaurant! The food is incredible and affordable. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are amiable (for the most part). Their unique curry is just out of this world, spicy or not (I prefer mild, they offer all ranges). I tried to replicate their take on curry several times before realizing I was spending as much on ingredients as they were selling it already done, and put my hope in that they stay around as long as I live xD I just had lunch here today (always went for dinner before) and I was out in 15 mins! Not exaggerating, I sat down at 12:05 and had my check by 12:20. Out of the 20 or so times I have been to Thai Ruby over the passed few years (If they were closer it would be significantly higher, 30 mins away from me .
I went there today for dinner. The food was median, however the Fancy Duck ($23) and a small bowl of Tom Yum ($5.95) and Coin Banana ($4.50) which are overpriced. The Fancy Duck was not authentic, it is more like orange chicken from Panda Express with a bunch of vegatables.
We ate there for late Valentine dinner, after we paid and got it the car, the staff (old lady) who collected our check (not out waitress) chased us, aggressivly required us to tips. After I gently explain to her that tiping is disrespectful in our culture, she just replied " But you have to tips". Till this point, I was upset and I told here that tip is optional and we already paid for service fee in our food. She turn her back on us and tell us that we are rude.
I would give negative star if I could, it was very rude and irrational of her and I will never go back.
Reply to "owner": Then pay your staff if you know they are working hard. You know that tip is optional yet still "require" me to tip? Stop blaming the customer for your stinginess. You should pay your staff and train them how to treat the customer, not chasing customers...
