Dollar General — Local services in Tamworth

Be careful Helen will harass you when your shopping. My family and I travel all over the usa and this is the first time we were harassed inside a dollar general. We walk in to get a couple of things we need for the next couple of days and the wife and I agreed on buying a couple adult drinks for the night to relax. My son has ADHD very bad so pushing the cart is what keeps him calm and not touching everything in the store. We were only in store for maybe 2 mins when a worker came up to us and told us my son couldn't push the cart due to the twisted teas in the cart. Mind you he didn't touch them and is not the one who's buying them just pushing the cart cause it helps him. I proceed after this to not finish my shopping but just checking out with what I already picked up and left immediately. As we are waiting to check out the employee Helen is running her mouth at us. I told her I will call corporate and she proceed to tell me to call them. I asked what her managers name is she tells me Jodi and tells me that Jodi will tell me the same thing. Who is she to tell me what I can and can't do with my kid. I have never had any issues like this ever in my life. I have been to this same dollar general at least 3 times a week. The manager is very rude. My 5 yr old had to go to the bathroom really and most kids cant hold it that long. We had to wait for the key, the cashier didnt know she had it so she gave us the spare key. Well the manager took it from me then went to stock the room then said my girl couldn't go by herself because they have been finding things in there, mind u we just walked into the store. Dont speculate and assume its children that are stealing it's most likely adults. This store has gone down hill since the previous manager left. Customer service is non existant in this place from most of the employees including management, items are always out of stock and the store is always dirty and messy. If you can shop at the other Dollar General in the areas then I would suggest doing so. This place is terrible I only shop here when it's absolutely necessary because I live right behind it. I dont like posting negative comments about places but this place just keeps getting worse. And it's not all the employees. I visited this Dollar General location recently and wanted to share my experience out of concern. The cashier(I believe her name tag said Lex/Lexi) working at the time appeared to be unusually jittery, speaking very rapidly and displaying erratic movements that made the interaction feel rushed and uncomfortable. While I understand that everyone has off days or different personalities, this behavior was alarming enough to set off alarm bells. As well as the concerning behavior, she was incredibly agitated and impatient with me as her customer, treating me with little to no respect the entire interaction. I don’t wish to file a report with corporate since I had been visiting from out of state, however I simply wanted to bring this to the attention of the store’s management and customers.
