By far, hand downs, the BEST "flea market" Ive ever experienced. I don't even consider it a flea market, it has such a nice atmosphere. It feels like a small local businesses only mall! All the vendors go above and beyond to make conversation get to know you every single one is willing to work with you and make a deal. Some even offer layaway options where you can put a payment down and come back next weekend Make another payment until the item is paid for. Some vendors if you know them very well and become repeat customers will give you amazing surprise gifts or deals for being reoccurring customers. I've actually become friends with a lot of people there by just being a return customer to so many of the vendors. All the vendors are like a giant family You know if you come with your kids your kids will be safe because everybody there will be looking out. The owner takes great pride in his property as well as his vendors and his relationship with his clients. They have a great Facebook page you can follow showing all their deals for the weekend they're only open Friday Saturday Sunday but you can make a great mini adventure on the weekend to go explore the stores inside.
Some of my favorite items that I've have found there are old antique books (one from even the late 1800s!!!!!), all the new up-to-date video games for discounted prices, discounted out of season but still amazing Victoria's secret products, a wonderful lady in there even helped me get both my kids on to the Florida kid Care, I have some beautiful crystals in my home for prices that I would have never found anywhere else in town with quality that by far surpasses the other local crystal stores. This is a one of a kind flea market. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
Highly recommend for a fun family outing where you know your kids can be safe because like I said all the vendors are good people with good intentions and everybody looks out for everybody. Once they recognize you as a reoccurring visitor you become family! This place is a truly special hidden gem in...
Read more11:00 a.m. on a Sunday found the market pretty much a ghost town. Over half of the vendors booths were not open, the other vendor's booths were unmanned with the exception of a handful of vendors. Half of the market side was blocked off and closed past the museum.
Truly disappointing.
Many empty spaces. If ownership and or management don't do something soon to turn this place around then I believe that it won't be open much longer. Which is a shame because the potential that this place has and its location make it a prime spot for what could be a stellar flea market. Perhaps some dollars need to be spent on advertising and I would definitely start a much stricter enforcement of vendor contracts which state vendors open times and vendor obligations to be there.
I also believe an interior makeover is due in a big way. First of all, decide what you are. Are you a marketplace, a flea market or a museum? If you are a museum or a marketplace then you should be open 7 days a week. If you are a flea market, then Saturday Sunday suffice great, but I would also open one day during the week as this will definitely generate more people to come in on that day and you will find that that day becomes your busiest day of the week. Furthermore, I believe that expanding the aisles so that they aren't so claustrophobic and changing the general color scheme is also warranted.
Once the ownership and or management takes charge of this place, I believe things will change. But that change starts with the management and ownership as well as investing the dollars needed to make the changes. Otherwise, as I stated earlier, I really do not believe this place will be open too much longer. Just my two cents do with it what you...
Read moreAs a customer I came in a month ago and had a positive experience. As I continued to frequent the marketplace I watched vendors close shop rapidly. Then I started hearing rumors from vendors and witnessed the management screaming at a vendor inside their storefront while they were trying to conduct business. I was turned away from the business by the distressed business owner trying to shield me from witnessing managements verbal assault on them. Management should have taken the vendor aside and spoke privately in a private place however that is not what happened. Other vendors who I made friends with and know me started to express their concerns about recent forced contracts being issued before their current contract was up ! Stating that any damage will not be held responsible by management . Needless to say there were damages done due to management’s negligence. So overall the owners and management of the marketplace are unprofessional, rude and downright abusive to the small businesses only wanting to make a living. I will not be going back and encourage all other patrons to...
