The Proper Pint — Restaurant in Holiday

I HAVE BEEN IN THE RESTAURANT AND BAR BUSINESS FOR ALMOST 3O YEARS AND WHEN I MOVED DOWN HERE 20 YEARS AGO I STARTED GOING TO BRENNAN'S AND LOVED THE ATMOSPHERE. I COULD GO THERE AFTER WORK AND RELAX AND GET GREAT SERVICE FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER MIKE BRENNAN WHILE HAVING FUN AND MEETING NEW PEOPLE. I ALSO BECAME BEST OF FRIENDS WITH MIKE AND HIS WIFE MARGARET. MIKE ALSO HAD 3 DAUGHTERS. HE WAS A WONDERFUL MAN AND LOVED TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE AND MADE BRENNAN'S PUB A STAPLE IN HOLIDAY FLORIDA. HE WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR PEOPLE. MIKE HAS NOW PAST ON AND THE BAR IS NOW RUN BY HIS DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND AND MARGARET THERE MOM AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY HELPS OUT WHEN THEY CAN. THEY HAVE CONTINUED MIKE LEGACY AND CONTINUE TO STRIVE TO MAKE EVERYONE FEEL AT HOME WHEN YOU GO THERE AND TAKE CARE THEM. ALSO THEY KEEP IMPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT BY RENOVATIONS AND MAKING IT MORE MODERN, ALWAYS KEEPING IT CLEAN AND ALWAYS WORKING AS HARD AS THEY CAN TO OFFER THERE CUSTOMERS A GREAT PLACE TO COME. THEY CONTINUE TO BRING IN GREAT ENTERTAINMENT AND GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE. I TRULY LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU LIVE IN THE AREA OR IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE DRIVING THROUGH AND STOP AND HAVE A DRINK AND SOME FOOD AND YOU WILL BE...

First and foremost let me start off by saying, I randomly googled sports bar close to me. I wanted a bar that wasnt going to be annoying. Its very hard to find a bar that isnt stacked with locals who wont let you order a beer at the bar or go somewhere were you feel bad about taking up a waitress's section (I'm service industry myself). But here is wonderful. I came for a lightning game, which I know isnt football and not a big deal to most people, but I was happy to have a spot and they turned the tv up for me. They still did jukebox, but it wasnt loud enough to block the tv. My bartender was Sarah and she was a gem. Best parts about this bar: french fries taste like McDonalds the women's bathroom is clean and stocked (see pic). Apparently they do dart tournaments and the other side of the bar is a dart room. I wasn't there for all that so I cant speak on that but it was well lit, nicely decorated for the size of the place. I wish I didn't eat before I came here so I could've dived into the menu. Will be back. Looking forward to coming back. More updates as I start...

9:00 PM on a Wednesday. Late and I was starving. Last thing I wanted was another fast food burger - blah. I stumbled upon Brenan's. Looked very "local", not at all like a chain. Walked in, had a good vibe to the place. Sat at the bar, Kyle was quick and courteous. I asked him "how was the Rueben?" He gave a thumbs up . So I gave it a shot.

The plate was presented well, clean, nothing fancy. looked grilled, not greasy, that was good sign. Generous portion of steak cut fries and a pickle spear. This might have been the best Reuben I have eaten, and I have had a few and can be very critical and picky ! Piled high, thin shaved meat, it was hot, so the cheese was all melted. Not sure what the swiss was , but it tasted great, had a perfect flavor to compliment the Corned beef. I am sure it was just because it was late and I was hungry and thirsty, but the Jack and Coke even tasted better than ever.

I'll be back. Kyle mentioned some other sandwich like the Ruben, but with Roast beef. It will be hard to try something new...
