Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance — Local services in Taunton

Speaking with someone in the DTA office is basically unachievable. I have been calling them for days. I have no car and I am unable to go online where I am at. Besides trying to get someone on the toll-free number, I have also repeatedly tried to get a live person at both the Worcester and the Taunton offices. I am from Worcester, but after having tried to get someone to no avail, I tried Taunton. Still nothing. The toll-free number says that they are TOO BUSY helping other people at the moment and that I need to call back at a later time. It says this ALL DAY LONG. I even tried to get someone by lying and telling the automated service I was calling about several other issues….just to try and get someone. Nothing. And the offices just tell you to hold for the receptionist and all you get is her voicemail. ALL DAY LONG. And of course no one has a SNAP case manager any more either so I can’t even try that. Absolutely 100%...

I have been trying for 2 wks. to talk to someone! It is renewal time for snap. I sent in app. and verification's. I received a recorded msg. on my phone and a letter of "reminder" a week and half after I sent it. I have tried to call the assistance line, to double check if they received my paperwork. Its absolutely impossible to talk to someone! It doesn't even give you the option to hold. It says all reps are busy .. call back! Crazy! Over 25 times I have called and same thing! Then I tried online (my accounts page) to find out if my paperwork was being processed and it is obviously not update daily as it says! Watch they will end up shutting me off and telling me they never received my paperwork! Beyond frustrated! Tried local no.s and the Taunton office and it just rings and rings then hangs up! WHAT is going on?????? HELP!!!!!!!...

They send food stamp renewal form, which asks when is a good time to call, as well as my living situation. I put ANYTIME in the AFTERNOON works. They call me ONE TIME, 3 weeks later, at 8:30AM when I am unable to answer the call. Since then, I have called them12+ times, and everytime it gives me a 'We need to talk to you' followed by being told theres nobody available. I download the app it recommends, and when I try to use it there is 'ERROR PLEASE CALL DTA', so I call them.. I'm told they need to talk to me, and theres nobody available and to call back later. So I've been calling back, and still nobody available. No leave a mesage option. No call back option. No wait for someone to be available option. No other calls from them.
