I have been patronizing this store for 23+ years. Today I went in to inquire about an ornament I had purchased that came without a charging cord. Essentially it is a paperweight without it. The woman at the register was so rude. She stated that those were to be purchased separately and they had none. It was not so much her words as the tone. I asked if I could return the ornament and she said all sales are final. I said well this is my last purchase here and left the store. If she had pointed out the extremely small print on the ornament box indicating that the power cord is purchased separately, then I would have concurred with her and acknowledged my responsibility for missing it. Perhaps signage indicating the extras needed for purchase near display would have been helpful? Kindness and tone are everything to me, I will use the power of my small wallet and take my business elsewhere. I will say that the other employees are quite nice in my experience. I stood in line for 35 minutes to get assistance in purchasing three boxes to ship Christmas cookie tins which I had with me. The lady at the shipping counter refused to help me said I would have to go to the back of the line .. excuse me that where I started 35 minutes prior to getting yo the counter. I explained that I didnāt intend to hold up the line by asking her to help me pack the boxes I just needed her to sell me the boxes so I could return them the next day and ship them. This Christmas in a stunning surprise(not so much), multiple people gave us a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament. Staff there said it was a Hallmark policy not to exchange Christmas ornaments after Christmas. That's a lie! It's a Diane policy. I didn't want money back, just a different ornament or in business world, an exchange. I guess don't buy any holiday gift there if you plan on giving it to someone on the actual holiday(Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc), it can't be exchanged.
