Fu Belly — Restaurant in Chandler

I’ve been frequenting this location for a few years now, and seems that the quality in service and food quantity for the price has declined significantly in recent times.

I’m mostly concerned about poor cleanliness and sanitation. The two waiters on duty cleared and cleaned multiple tables with bare hands and immediately served prepared food without washing their hands. There is a sink visible in their “bar” area that they clearly did not use. The alternative would probably be sanitizer, but it didn’t seem like they used any. Additionally, my table had no soup spoons. I checked nearby tables for them and noticed that several were unclean, still with red soup residue crusted on them.

The veggie plate that usually comes with the pho is now pretty sparse—one stalk of basil and a small handful of bean sprouts instead of multiple stalks of basil and a pile of bean sprouts. The pho and spring rolls are still flavorful though, but varies by day.

I asked for separate takeout containers for my leftover pho and was only given one, even though it was clear my leftovers would not fit into one (indeed it did not fit). I had to ask for another and a bag to keep my soup contents contained in case of spillage.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with my children and had a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the server and directed to a table. The front of the restaurant appeared to be understaffed, with one individual managing both dine-in and carryout orders. It took nearly 10 minutes for the server to bring us menus, and an additional 15 minutes before I had to call the server back to place our order.

Once our order was placed, it took another 10 minutes to receive our water and drinks. Our food arrived after a 30-minute wait, and unfortunately, our appetizer was missing. The portions served were inconsistent, with all bowls containing the same amount despite ordering one adult and two child portions. The server did not return to check on us throughout the meal.

After finishing, I had to go to the counter to settle the bill and voiced my concerns about the service and portion sizes. The server's response was indifferent, and no management appeared to address the issues I raised, despite the presence of multiple staff members in the kitchen.

This experience was disappointing, especially given the positive reviews this restaurant has received. Based on this visit, I regret to say that we will not be returning or recommending this...

This was our first time here so we tried a bit of everything. Wish I had taken some pictures to share. Everthing looked great and tasted even better. We had spring rolls and egg rolls and they were both excellent. The egg rolls looked just a tad darker that we are used to but they were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and very tasty. The spring rolls with the peanut sauce were delicious too. We ordered Chicken Pho with beef broth and fried rice with pork for the main course. The Pho had the best tasting broth we have had in a long time. The chicken was tender and the bean sprouts and basil look very fresh. 10 out of 10 for the Pho!!!! The fried rice was amazing. They put actual marinated grilled pork over the top of the rice. The rice had a bit of a smokey grilled taste to it too. Great combo with the real pork on it. Best fried rice ever. 11 out of 10...so good.

The staff was friendly and inviting. They worked very well together. The two persons out front were hustling and did a great job keeping everyone happy. Other restaurants should take note of how good the service is here. The food came fast and everything was delicious. Kudos to everyone there...you rock!!!
