Poké Wave — Restaurant in Tempe

If I could give 0 stars I would. My wife put in an online order with strict instructions regarding a severe crustacean allergy. When we arrived at the restaurant the young woman behind the counter had left her dish unprepared so she could make sure nothing touching shrimp was put on it. We thought that was great and she proceeded to finish making the entree. After leaving and going to our hotel my wife began eating the entree only to realize halfway through that there was crab in the food. Not only was this something she warned against but it was not even ordered or supposed to be part of the entree. Very very poor job by the young woman that works the Tuesday evening shift at Poke Wave.

Note to the employee that blundered: You yourself mentioned that it seemed like the allergy was severe and could cause death... Yet you frivolously added an ingredient containing crab which wasn't even ordered to her entree. This is not some trivial mistake but rather an error that could cost a customer her life in a worst case scenario. Let this serve as a lesson for the future.

After an evening gym session I was craving some poke, I searched for places nearby my and Poke Wave seemed like a good option.

I built my own poke with raise and leafs as a base, for proteins I picked spicy tuna and salmon, for the sides I had all of them except for corn, jalapeños and cilantro because I'm not really into adding taco ingredients to my poke, I chose the ginger sauce to go with the mix and complemented my dinner with a miso soup that I can only describe as a warm hug to my stomach.

Poke Wave has a loyalty program with stamps and after 10 pokes they give you a complimentary one so I (obviously) already went back, this time I picked raise and kale as the base, it was pretty good but im not so sure about the kale in general because I've never been really fond of it, but if are you'll probably love it.

This is my favorite of all the poke places I have visited.

Every poke place I go to I get a bowl with white rice and then customize what topping and sauce I get based on my mood and cravings. This place is no exception so I have never had their sushi burritos or curated bowls.

The fish here is always cold and has a fresh taste. They have your standard topping but they are always fresh. The portion they give you is big but balanced. I do not like when I have to much rice compared to topping and their bowls have a great balance. The real standout food wise here is the lime ponzu sauce! I have never had any ponzu sauce as good as this one!!!

This place also consistently delivers excellent customer service. I have never seen them have an "off day" and that is rare for some place I frequent multiple times a week. The owners are awesome and truly care about...
