Pastor John who is the congregational teacher for Church on the Rock, is absolutely among the best Bible teachers I have had opportunity to sit under. His messages are relevant to our times and lives. He remains faithful to the spiritual aspect of God's Word. Yet at the same time, teaching so the very base believer can keep abreast of what is being taught. The outreach ministries of Church on the Rock are nothing less than phenomenal. Church on the Rock has ministries which range from digging water wells in Mexico, to preaching in countries across the globe. In fact this past year, Church on the Rock gave a little less than one million dollars to missions outreach. What ever the needs of your family, Church on the Rock provides a ministry to enrich your family worship. Children, teens, young adults and even old moss heads like myself, find a place to fit in. It is because all these ministry assets, that Church on the Rock is now having to move to a new location, because of the constantly increasing growth. Despite being in a continuing growth pattern, you feel like you are in a close family environment. You will not be disappointed with Church...
Read moreNew to Texarkana and found this amazing church! The Pastor is phenomenal. The music is good but the volume (rock concert level) and duration is a real problem for us and the people we have invited. It is so loud that we must wear ear plugs. The music is played when Pastor John is praying at the beginning and the end of the service and although it is softer than when he is not talking, it is still too loud to be able to concentrate on what he is saying. Today the music was played all the way through a guest speakerâs talk. It felt rude. I know worship is important but Iâm wondering if itâs just us, or do others feel this way? Maybe a poll of the congregation could be taken? The teaching and Pastor get a 5-star rating! The music selection is good but because of the volume and other issue the worship gets a 2.5-star rating. I pray this doesnât sound too negative. I really love...
Read moreAs far as churches go... usually its hard to feel at 'home'. Church on the Rock was different, It wasn't hard to be welcomed and accepted and even given open doors to contribute in my own way. Personally I disagree with the reviewer who thought the pastor had a temper. I have not experienced that. All the staff go out of their way to love on folks. And Pastor John makes a real effort to get to know people who come.. I am amazed at how he greets so many folks by their first name.. Now that is an accomplishment! I love that this church has a vision for the city, and the world.. and it is reflected in the congregation and how involved they are outside the church walls. There are always places and things that need improvement, but this is a group of people who really love JESUS. and are trying to love those around them the...
