I ordered chicken fried rice. They made me chicken hibachi. An up-charge!
The cook tried to be funny. He wasn't. He sprayed the table with a water bottle. When he looked to squirt me, I shook my head 'no'!
The cook used a spatula to prepare the food at the table. This same spatula was used to dangle a noodle over the head of a patron and her husband for a 'Lady and the Tramp' moment. The noodle fell on her face. The spatula was used to scoop the noodle off her face and extended to the husband. When it failed again the noodle was thrown back onto the grill! Yes, off her face and onto the grill. As we gasped, the cook 'removed' the noodle from the other noodles. Our collective thought was, 'did that just happen?' How'd he know which noodle was which??? He couldn't have. Maybe the noodles were for that couple I tried to tell myself. But no! The cook served some to my son! We called for our the manager. The cook continued to cook shrimp. He dished several out to the other party members with that spatula that scooped the noodle off of her face and then gave shrimp to my party. We didn't order shrimp because my son is allergic. I exclaimed 'no' but he continued. Not that he would have eaten the noodles but certainly not with the shrimp. Surely, the young wife had some lovely germs that my son might have survived. But the shrimp would close his throat and cut off his airway. Once the manager arrived she did not speak to me but to the cook. I could not understand their language but I could interpret the cook's motions. He tried to say he threw the noodle away.
When the manager refused to engage me, I engaged her. She and the wait staff blamed us for not declining the shrimp upfront even though we didn't order it; nor did we know it was given for free. Had we known, we would have declined it. He is allergic! We left without an apology but with blame. We will never go back to Osaka. Incompetence. A poor grasp of food safety. Sneakily adding up-charged items to the bill. And, unworthy of...
Read moreThe ONLY reason I am giving a single star is because it won't allow me to give less. My fiance and I visited this place and the food was awful. I ordered sushi and he and our kids had the hibachi grill. The hibachi chef barely said two words to us and the waitress had to be flagged down for refills. I wasn't mad enough to complain but then my fiance did not eat his hibachi chicken which was dry and flavorless. I never use soy sauce with my sushi but this time, I HAD to. My 16 yr old son who devours everything , ate hardly any of his dry, hibachi steak or rice. We overheard the guys at our same hibachi table saying how bad theirs was as well. So, my fiance decided to say something. The manager came by and he told her … after asking what was wrong with it, she handed us the bill with a small discount - like the amount of TAX. He was still not happy. He grew angry with the way they brushed us off, charged us $80 and we left with empty stomachs. He went back. They told him that he didn't know real asian cuisine. He said my wife is half asian. The waitress said I wasn't ASIAN because I spoke English. And I don't know Asian culture or how the food should be. A place that discriminates like this AND even brings up the fact that I'm American REALLY infuriates me. And yes, I called the owner to tell her how inappropriate that is and she was rude until I told her I was posting on their reviews about this. She said how I don't understand it and they get American Asians and Mexicans and all races who don't either. DO NOT support this business because the owners here say WE AMERICANS DO NOT KNOW ASIAN CUISINE. I guess DRY, TASTELESS food is the norm for the Japanese and lack of customer...
Read moreCame in for a quick family visit, and decided to have a drink or 2 and a little Habachi with some buds. There were 4 of us at a table of 10... and my friends and I were the only group at the table that had any black people. The waitress (Kamie) refused to directly acknowledge my friend and I (the only people who looked like us in the room) or look us in the eye. The other guests had soup, salad, and chopsticks for at least 10 minutes before we had any. When I requested a drink menu, she brought it, said, "It's on the back," and walked off. When I asked someone who made it back to the table before her (she was gone for at least another 10 minutes), the girl I placed the order with was offended because my friends said the server had been rude(she let us know that was her roommate). When she brought the drink back, she told me SHE'D SPIT IN IT IF I WANTED HER TO! My friends and I were FLOORED! After all this, the waitress and her roommate came back together and apologized DIRECTLY TO OUR 2 WHITE FRIENDS "for the bad service" without taking a glance at either of the people who were treated poorly. I will never be back, and I'll make sure that everyone I know knows about the bigoted practice that are being...
